‘I’m a whole lawyer’: Jilted Jasmine Crockett talks future career plans that may drive MAGA ‘crazy’

Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, revealed what she is going to do once her term is up in January.

The progressive lawmaker failed to beat out her opponent, James Talarico, for a U.S. Senate seat in the state, and in the process, was also voted out of her current House seat. This means that come January, she’s going to be hunting for a new job, and in discussing her future career prospects, she reminded people that she’s “a whole lawyer.”

“‘What will you do after your next term?'” Crockett said, reading a question from someone watching her video stream. “There is no next term. This is the term. So my term ends in January, uhm, Imma be doin’ a few things here and there. Some of what I’ve done as I’ve been kind of off the radar is engage in conversations.”

“I just want to point out to y’all that, prior to coming to Congress, I know it drives MAGA crazy, but I’m a whole lawyer, uhm, so, I will potentially go back to practicing law,” she added. “I’m engaged in conversations with some law firms about what that would look like. I wanna be semi-flexible as it relates to the practice of law, because I absolutely want to get to this book. It’ll feel like a thriller to me, child, cuz I’ve lived this life, but uhm, I definitely want to get to this book. We’ve had publishers that have reached out for some time wanting me to do a book, for a very long time.”

“We also have some podcast conversations that we’ll be engaging in, uhm, we’ll see about political commentating. I would love to actually show up in the classroom and do a little professor thing here and there. The sky’s the limit, so we’re gonna kinda be doing a little bit of everything,” the lawmaker continued.
