‘I’m completely over it’: MTG delivers defiant statement in defense of wild fight with AOC

Think what you will of U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who may occasionally push the bar a little too far, but she is one of the few Republicans on Capitol Hill loudly opposing the radical left agenda that’s afoot in America today.

On Monday, Greene got into what amounted to a verbal fistfight on the House Oversight Committee, getting into a brouhaha with U.S. Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). The GOP lawmaker took to the social media platform X afterward to say, “I’m completely over it.”

Over the hypocrisy and gamesmanship that is Washington, D.C., not the clash that came about when she mocked the extreme fake eyelashes worn by Crockett, who tends to sometimes dress as if she is about to go clubbing rather than make policy.

“Some people are upset about the scene from Oversight Committee last night, well I’m upset and disgusted pretty much every day at the Democrat-controlled DOJ, federal government, and Congress in general,” Greene posted. “The Democrat DOJ is weaponized against us. They want to put Pres Trump in jail the rest of his life which is a death sentence!”

“They are throwing people in prison by the thousands for years for protesting the 2020 election but ignore their own paid criminal rioters,” she continued. “They put Peter Navarro in prison and will soon put Steve Bannon in prison because of Nancy Pelosi’s corrupt January 6th Committee that broke House rules and hired an ABC TV producer to put on their prime time nightly hearings of LIES.”

MTG, who refused to apologize for her remarks, was getting warmed up.

“The Democrats are the same people who voted to kill unborn babies up until the day of birth and they would march us all in front of a firing squad if they could,” Greene ranted on. “Congress has enslaved the American people in over $34 TRILLION in debt and that will be over $55 TRILLION in only 10 years. Washington DC only cares about funding and fighting foreign wars while fully and cowardly refusing to fight the war waged against the American people at our own southern border.”

“Pardon me if I don’t talk as nicely as some people would like to hear,” she concluded. “I’m not going to keep you all addicted to outrage and hopium that never solves a problem or stops the inevitable implosion of the United States of America. I’m completely over it.”

There is little to dispute in her statement, though the firing squad suggestion will raise a few eyebrows. Then again, given the treatment many Jan. 6 protesters have endured for doing little more than trespassing, including a nearly 4-year FBI dragnet, is it really much of a stretch?

As for the earlier attraction, a cat fight broke out between MTG and AOC when the latter took exception to the reference to the fake eyelashes and a remark about Crockett’s “intelligence.”

“Oh girl, oh baby girl, don’t even play,” Ocasio-Cortez said, showing she has street game as well.

Greene replied, “Oh really, baby girl?”

The real loser in the end may have been U.S. Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the Oversight Committee chair, who showed little ability to control the members as they threw protocol to the wind and went at each other like immature teenagers.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses from those who back MTG, as seen on X:
