‘Impeachable’: Megyn Kelly, VDH talk consequences of alleged Biden role in Nord Stream pipeline blast

If the Biden administration did covertly blow up the Nord Stream pipelines, as has been alleged by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh, then that would be an impeachable offense, according to Victor Davis Hanson.

Popular podcaster Megyn Kelly invited Hanson onto her show Friday to discuss a stunning new article from Hersh accusing the Biden administration of having blown up the Nord Stream pipelines last September.

Their discussion began with her describing the article.

“Seymour Hersh, longtime investigative journalist, won the Pulitzer Prize, has this long piece on his Substack, ‘How America Took Out the Nordstream Pipeline.’ … The report says that last June, United States Navy divers operating under the cover of a widely publicized midsummer NATO exercise planted explosives that three months later destroyed three of the four Nordstrom pipelines,” she said.

“We did it. We had promised that we would do it. Some people may forget, Joe Biden actually said that if the Russians invaded Ukraine, we were going to take take out these pipelines. … According to Seymour Hersh, it was us. We sabotaged the pipelines in the most covert way popular,” she added.

Why did we do it?

Because “as long as Europe remained dependent on those pipelines for cheap natural gas, Washington was afraid countries like Germany would be reluctant to supply Ukraine with the money and weapons we wanted Ukraine to have to help defeat Russia,” Kelly explained, citing Hersh’s article.

“So this is rather extraordinary, because OK, you might think great, great, we’re hurting Russia. [But] we’re hurting the EU, we’re hurting our own allies, all of whom are part of NATO, which we’re part of as well. And it does leave you with real questions [like] is there gonna be any blowback to us as a result of this? Does anyone care that we did this?” she added.

Speaking next, Hanson noted how NOBODY in the establishment press is talking about Hersh’s article, despite its importance, and despite it being written by a guy with a Pulitzer Prize on his belt.

“What struck me about it was, if it was so easily false, people would in the media cover it and then reject it. But it’s one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen. There’s no coverage whatsoever. Maybe a little bit in the Daily Mail or something. It’s almost as if all the media decided that we’re not going to discuss this. And that’s kind of strange,” he said.

Is it really, though? Isn’t this what the media always do? Don’t they routinely pick and choose which stories to share based on whether the stories fit their preferred narratives?

Hanson continued by outlining the humongous implications of this story — implications that, again, the media are completely ignoring.

“It’s just a little story, but the implications are so overwhelming. … The first is we’re not at war with us with Russia. And if this were to be true, we attacked a Russian asset, a Russian property, and we destroyed it in a time of peace. That’s almost an act of war against a country that’s got 7,000 nuclear weapons,” he said.

“The second thing is that Germany is a NATO partner. And it was headed into winter. So if that were true, we were saying, well, according to our geostrategic agenda, we’re willing to have 80 million Germans get a little cold this winter and get in their heat wounds and chop some wood because we feel the United States has geostrategic agendas that trump the ability of Germans to keep warm in the winter,” he added.

And the third implication is that the Biden administration went around Congress.

“They did not apprise Congress. They want around it. And they basically attacked Russia, and they destroyed the property. It was very valuable to an ally. it’s really has it has a lot of really dangerous consequences for them, because I think the American people would even be outraged,” he said.

Continuing his remarks, Hanson then drew attention to several other unconfirmed allegations, such as the claim that President Joe Biden’s son used classified information to profit mightily, and the claim that the Biden administration blocked a potential peace treaty between Ukraine and Russia.

“This administration is so reckless that there’s elements of these stories that we just dismissed, that if they were fully investigated and turned out to be true, they would be impeachable,” Hanson then said, concluding his remarks.
