Incorrigible race baiter Joy Reid suggests black conservatives have to be willing to sell out their own people

Joy Reid suggested that black conservatives have to be willing to sell out their own people in order to get ahead, yet another sick take from the incorrigible race-baiter.

The former MSNBC/MS NOW host is so obsessed with race that she was dubbed “the race lady,” and while she no longer has a cable network platform to spew her hate from, she continues to do it as a YouTuber and as a guest on other podcasts.

During an appearance on the latest episode of Jack Cocchiarella’s YouTube show on Sunday, Reid took a swipe at Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.), an ally of President Donald J. Trump whom she claimed once said that black people were better off during slavery and Jim Crow, a gross misrepresentation of his comments.

Donalds is running to succeed term-limited Ron DeSantis as Florida’s governor, something that, in Reid’s twisted mind, wouldn’t be possible if black conservatives weren’t willing to humiliate themselves to be successful in the GOP.

“I’ve known a lot of black conservatives in my time, I was in Florida… I used to do a radio show with a black moderate and a black conservative – I was the liberal – and what I feel like around black conservatives, number one, there’s a sense of ‘I can stand taller in a room where there are no other black people,” she told the host.

“So they get a lot of opportunity,” Reid continued. “If you’re a black conservative, you’re gonna be pushed forward…but in order to get that boost from the right, you have to humiliate your own people.”

“You have to express disdain for your own people. There has to be a certain amount of self-hate that you’re willing to promote and a lot of humiliation that you’re willing to promote,” she claimed.

“And especially in Trumpism,” Reid added. “MAGA Trumpism is about humiliation, and that’s not just for black folks; they all have to bend the knee, allow themselves to be humiliated, allow themselves to be mocked. The press, in order to cover him, has to allow themselves to be mocked.”

“But for African-Americans, for black candidates and black politicians, the way to – and black content creators – you have to do things like excuse slavery. Like to me the amount of humiliation that you have to suffer, isn’t worth the boost you get from the right, but a lot of people are thirsty for that boost, and they’ll take it.”

“I never said that it was better for black people in Jim Crow,” Donalds said, defending himself from Reid’s sleazy interpretation of his remarks in 2024.

“He lets white men pat him on the head in the United States House of Representatives,” Reid previously said of the Florida gubernatorial frontrunner.

“Black and Brown Voters don’t want Communism or Socialism — Not surprisingly, they are flocking to the Republican Party! They remember that Abraham Lincoln was a Republican!” Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social on Sunday.

Reid’s future autobiography should be titled “The Joy of Racism.”
