The sudden passing of a 35-year-old weight loss influencer left family and fans devastated as the announced cause sparked concern.
Monday, the Instagram page of Brazilian-born content creator Mila De Jesus was updated with a “note of condolence” from one of her four children. Only a few months after beginning a marriage with her second husband, George Kowszik, the Friday death was attributed to “suffering from a suspected cardiac arrest,” reported the Daily Mail.
“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mila de Jesus this Friday,” read the Instagram post according to one translation. “In this moment of pain, respect the family and friends and we will express our respect to Mila, who will be greatly missed.”
Included in the post was a message from the influencer’s daughter Anna Clara who said, “We are very saddened by the death of our beautiful mother. Thank you for all the prayers and condolences. Keep praying for us. Thanks.”

De Jesus’ notoriety was built upon her weight loss story chronicled since Oct. 2017 when she underwent gastric bypass surgery.
This past October, she marked the anniversary of the life-changing procedure with before and after pictures comparing her now to how she looked when she was only 22 years old. That post came after she had revealed to her followers that she had been suffering from psoriasis since July.
“For three months I have been dealing with this situation, 80% of my body is affected, between doctors, medications, ointments, and taking deep breaths…” said De Jesus in a post showing the scaly patches from the rash covering her torso.
While many flocked to the post or elsewhere on social media to mourn the loss of the newlywed mother, others voiced their concern over the reported cause of death for the seemingly otherwise healthy woman.
The X account of Erin Elizabeth posted Monday, “Influencer/fitness model Mila de Jesus dead at barely 35. Suspected cardiac arrest!…This is the second fitness model I’ve reported dying suddenly, young & fit, in 24 hours. Reportedly she was fully vaccinated. She leaves behind a husband & children. Rip.”

The other model mentioned referred to 50-year-old “All My Children” actor Alec Musser who, according to fiancée, Paige Press, had been suffering from “a severe case of COVID” despite being vaccinated and boosted.
“He was a very healthy person. I mean he took exceptional care of his body and what went into it,” she said. “He’d eat some cookies and that was the worst thing I ever saw him do.”

Zeroing in on information available on the website of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), another social media user highlighted how “new-onset psoriasis and psoriasis flares were reported as cutaneous adverse events following COVID-19 vaccination.”
