Insurrectiony: Anti-ICE rioters BREACH barricades at U.S. Capitol, dozens arrested

The Democrats’ national weekend anti-Trump insurgency got off to an early start when a pack of anti-ICE rioters breached the barricades at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C., on Friday.

Around 60 left-wing activists were arrested after they stormed a police line of bike racks and began advancing toward the steps leading to the Capitol Rotunda, a scene that Democrats would have called an “insurrection” if the protesters were conservative supporters of President Donald J. Trump.

The group of protesters, who organizers said were veterans and military family members, turned out to protest Trump’s deployment of National Guard troops in Los Angeles to restore order after left-wing riots erupted last week after federal authorities executed a search warrant on a business suspected of illegal activities, including money laundering. It was not a random sweep conducted to deport illegal aliens as Democrats and the media portrayed it.

During the protest, the barricades were breached, and dozens made a beeline for “our Temple of Democracy” as the building was described by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi in a statement marking the four-year anniversary of the so-called “insurrection.”

Capitol Police were able to quickly intervene to prevent the occupation of the Capitol.

“A few people pushed the bike rack down and illegally crossed the police line while running towards the Rotunda Steps,” the Capitol Police said in a statement. “Our officers immediately blocked the group and began making arrests.”

“All will be charged with unlawful demonstration and crossing a police line. Additional charges for some will include assault on a police officer and resisting arrest,” the police stated.

Some X users suggested that the rioters’ actions merited the same type of response that was brought against mostly peaceful protesters who were caught up in the chaos at the Capitol on January 6, 2021, while others noted the disparity in treatment.

The incident comes on the eve of the D.C. military parade set to mark the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary as well as Flag Day. Saturday is also President Trump’s birthday, and dishonest Democrat front groups behind the “No Kings” demonstrations have falsely claimed that the troops and tanks are going to be in the streets of the nation’s capital solely to honor him, like a third-world dictator.

“President Trump wants tanks in the street and a made-for-TV display of dominance for his birthday. A spectacle meant to look like strength. But real power isn’t staged in Washington. It rises up everywhere else,” the “No Kings” website states.

Promoted as a “nationwide day of defiance,” the organized events are an obvious attempt to create the narrative that there is a national revolt against Trump and his policies, just seven months after he was elected by a landslide, sweeping all of the swing states and winning the popular vote.

“On the eve of Donald Trump’s $45+ million military birthday parade, approximately 60 veterans and military family members staged a sit-in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC to demand the military get off our city streets from LA to DC, and taxpayer money be directed towards real investments in housing, health care, and food — not political stunts or militarism,” the group behind the Capitol protest said in a statement to ABC 7News.
