‘Is Google trying to f**k me?’ Trump reportedly upset over TRUTH Social app exclusion

Donald Trump is reportedly upset about Google Play not including an app for his new social media endeavor, TRUTH Social, which launched a web app version this week allowing users to access the site via computers — the app was only available via an iPhone during the initial “soft launch.”

“Is Google trying to f*ck me?” the former president supposedly asked, according to Rolling Stone, which cited sources close to Trump,

Not that left-leaning Rolling Stone gets a lot right these days, but Trump allegedly asked this of friends and advisors while discussing TRUTH Social only being available on the Apple App Store.

“The source of his paranoia, according to two people with knowledge of the ex-president’s query, was the absence of an Android app for his struggling social media app, Truth Social, the magazine reported. “Since it launched in February, the app has been available only on Apple devices, leaving Android users — roughly 40 percent of the U.S. mobile device market — without access to the platform. This has left Trump with questions about the status of the product and whether his perceived enemies at Google had any plans to reject it.”

A source is quoted saying, “He keeps hearing about how Google and YouTube have it out for him … including on Truth Social, and I think he’s taking [it] seriously.” Trump was suspended from YouTube after the Jan. 6, 2021, protest at the U.S. Capitol.

The article noted that Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) chief executive Devin Nunes hinted at problems with Google when he spoke about making the app available via web browsers.

“After that we will launch an Android app … pending approval from Google!” the former congressman said.

Trump recently started posting on the new platform that he hopes will challenge the Big Tech social media networks that go heavy on censorship over free speech.

As the magazine noted, Trump plugged TRUTH Social during a rally in Austin, Texas, on Sunday.

“Have you seen Truth? It’s doing great. It’s new, it’s hot, and it’s actually much, much better than Twitter. It’s so … it blows Twitter away,” he said, adding, “Everybody loves it, especially the engagement.”
