‘Is this a cartoon or a documentary?’ South Park’s mockery of ‘woke’ reboots celebrated by conservatives

The equal opportunity offenders behind “South Park” were lauded for their “national treasure” as a new special “nuke[d] Hollywood” and became the toast of conservative social media.

Friday, Trey Parker and Matt Stone premiered an event episode of their long-running series tellingly dubbed “South Park: Joining the Panderverse,” streaming exclusively on Paramount+. While the entertainment industry fad of gender-swapping reboots was featured prominently, so too was the disdain for the team over at Disney, including CEO Bob Iger and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.

In one promotional clip for the special that left billionaire Elon Musk laughing over the “timely” satire, Cartman awakens from a nightmare where the main characters “have been replaced by a diverse group of women who express their grievances about the patriarchy.”

“I had a dream where I was replaced by a diverse woman…Will you check under the bed and make sure there’s no Disney executives under there?”

At another point in the special, Cartman, who had envisioned himself being replaced by an adult black woman, was seen detailing his nightmare wherein everyone had been “systematically replaced” during a therapy session.

“I wanna scream and I’m like, ‘Why are they replacing every single character with someone who is diverse?’ But then Kenny’s like, ‘It’s not our fault it’s ’cause of Kathleen Kennedy,’ but then Kathleen Kennedy’s just like, ‘F*ck it, make it more lame!'” Cartman recounted before Iger is pictured whining over plummeting stock values, “No Kathleen Kennedy!”

The ridicule of the once trusted brand in family entertainment comes after a series of box office bombs seemingly showed the industry giant making no effort to depart from its agenda-driven push to their own library of content and decimate for the sake of satisfying leftist ideologues.

Of course, while their self-awareness might be lacking, their inherent understanding of the need to profit lasted in part as the backlash over the “Snow White” reboot starring Rachel Zegler had led to a drastic announcement.

As even 91-year-old David Hand, the son of the original animated feature’s director of the same name, decried “I think Walt [Disney] and he would be turning in their graves,” Disney announced that the release, originally slated for March 1, 2024, had been postponed until June 13, 2025, and that it was undergoing some considerable reshoots.

In the meantime, the reactions to the “South Park” episode continued to be a hot topic for conservatives. Among them was actress Gina Carano, who herself had felt the brunt of Lucasfilm’s woke ire.

Sharing a clip, the one-time star from “The Mandalorian” wrote, “This is the part where KK demands any YouTubers get censored off of YouTube for sharing and laughing at this hilarious episode, she’ll have YouTube disable the thumbs down option because of the ratio she’ll receive, then she’ll have her publicist ghouls make sure Variety and Hollywood Reporter run hit pieces about the South Park creators and their families smearing their names through every useful idiot she has under her thumb who would sell their soul to work for Lucas film…”

A host of others add their own takes on X, including actor Dean Cain who simply stated, “This is funny. South Park is a national treasure.”
