Israeli officials are “dismayed” by Prince Williams’ “naïve” statement concerning the war against Hamas, according to The Telegraph.
“Israeli officials were caught off guard by the Prince’s words, and it is understood that they consider his statement to be naive,” The Telegraph reported Tuesday.
“They are dismayed, but it is thought they decided not to go further in criticising him publicly because they did not want to enter into a row with the future King,” the reporting continued.
And so instead of blasting him publicly, they released a measured statement acknowledging his call for a ceasefire but pushing back on it with the facts.

“Israelis of course want to see an end to the fighting as soon as possible, and that will be possible once the 134 hostages are released, and once the Hamas terror army threatening to repeat the Oct. 7 atrocities is dismantled,” the statement reads.
“We appreciate the Prince of Wales’ call for Hamas to free the hostages. We also recall with gratitude his statement from Oct. 11 condemning Hamas’ terror attacks and reaffirming Israel’s right of self-defense against them,” it continues.
This comes shortly after Prince William unexpectedly decided to interject himself in the war by releasing a statement calling for a ceasefire.
“I remain deeply concerned about the terrible human cost of the conflict in the Middle East since the Hamas terrorist attack on 7 October. Too many have been killed. I, like so many others, want to see an end to the fighting as soon as possible. There is a desperate need for increased humanitarian support to Gaza,” the statement reads.
“It’s critical that aid gets in and hostages are released. Sometimes it is only when faced with the sheer scale of human suffering that the importance of permanent peace is brought home. Even in the darkest hour, we must not succumb to the counsel of despair. I continue to cling to the hope that a brighter future can be found and I refuse to give up on that,” it continues.

His statement prompted immediate backlash, with many critics saying that he should have followed the lead of the late Queen Elizabeth and avoided involving himself in political matters.
“The future King needs to realise he’s treading into waters that he should steer clear of, William needs to realise he has no opinion on this, just like Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 2nd would have counselled him not to get involved,” one critic tweeted.
“Do as your wise grand mother: stay out of politics,” another critic tweeted.

As a Royalist I must say I’m deeply disappointed in your involvement in politics. I seriously think you need to be much more familiar with a few facts. Israelis were massacred by Hamas. They have every right to fight back. Hamas have vowed to keep attacking Israel.

The situation is too serious/complex for a statement from any member of our constitutional monarchy, however well-liked, to be regarded as anything other than political, ergo inadvisable. Best not to speak, but if you must, then at least put the release of the hostages first.

You really learnt nothing from the late Queen.
Stay out of politics, you’ve done enough damage to the monarchy already.
Your association with the criminal WEF also speaks volumes about the level of betrayal you’ve inflicted on the Brits.

This is a sure fire way to destroy the monarchy.
Your grandmother knew to keep her opinions to herself and that served her well for 70yrs.

According to the Daily Mail, so-called “royal experts” say that Prince Williams’ unexpected statements suggest he intends to be a hands-on King in the future.
But writing for the Daily Mail, royal writer Richard Kay warned this desire “to move away from the mere platitudes that are the typical stuff of royal statements” could lead the royals into “dangerous uncharted waters.”
Britain’s Chief Rabbi meanwhile was pleased by the prince’s statement.

Since his visit to the region in 2018, the Prince of Wales has shown a deep concern for the well being of all those affected by the conflict in the Middle East and his words of compassion today, which I welcome, are yet further evidence of this.
