It takes Good Morning America nearly 5 hrs to delete outrageously false tweet about new justice KJB

For nearly five hours, ABC’s “Good Morning America” Twitter account let stand a factually incorrect tweet declaring that Ketanji Brown Jackson was “the first Black Supreme Court justice,” despite all the attention the tweet was generating.

In a bit of good news for the left amid a very bad month, litigiously speaking, Jackson was sworn Thursday as the 116th justice of the Supreme Court, becoming the first black woman to serve on the court after filling the seat of Justice Stephen Breyer, who officially stepped down this week after previously announcing his retirement — with a little nudge.

ABC’s “Good Morning America” Twitter account responded with a now-deleted tweet: “Ketanji Brown Jackson sworn in as first Black Supreme Court justice in US history.”

All of which comes as a surprise to Justice Clarence Thomas, who for all of his 74 years on this planet believed himself to be a black man. The ABC revelation was surely news to the family of the ACTUAL first black Supreme Court Justice, Thurgood Marshall, who served on the high court from 1967 to 1991.

“CORRECTION: Video shows Ketanji Brown Jackson sworn in as the first Black female Supreme Court justice in U.S. history. A previous tweet erroneously stated Jackson is the first Black Supreme Court justice,” GMA wrote.

Not only did ABC’s morning show get it wrong on Twitter, but a YouTube video also repeated the misinformation and, as Fox News noted, both were finally taken down nearly 5 hours after the tweet was posted.

Some on social media questioned whether the initial tweet was intended as a slight toward Thomas, who is widely panned by the media for his conservative views. Jackson, on the other hand, is expected to rigidly adhere to the radical left agenda in America today.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter:
