‘It’s long past time’: Florida lawmaker files articles of impeachment against Biden

A Republican lawmaker isn’t waiting for the green light from Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy to hold President Joe Biden accountable and has filed articles of impeachment against the White House occupant who has been engulfed by a mushrooming corruption and bribery scandal.

On Friday, Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) filed the four impeachment articles accusing the octogenarian Democrat of high crimes and misdemeanors including abuse of power, accepting bribes and obstructing justice, a move that will up the pressure on GOP House leaders who have been dithering over initiating an actual impeachment investigation.

“It’s long past time to impeach Joe Biden,” the Florida Republican said in a statement. “He has undermined the integrity of his office, brought disrepute on the Presidency, betrayed his trust as President, and acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice at the expense of America’s citizens. The evidence continues to mount by the day – the Biden Crime Family has personally profited off Joe’s government positions through bribery, threats, and fraud. Joe Biden must not be allowed to continue to sit in the White House, selling out our country.”

“Robert Hunter Biden (Hunter Biden) and James Biden sold access to then Vice President Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. (Joe Biden) while he was in office from 2009 to 2017 and sold promised access to a future Biden Presidential Administration while he was out of office from 2017 to 2021. Hunter and James appear to have promised official actions by Joe Biden in return for payments and business opportunities from foreign and domestic business partners. Joe Biden assisted by making appearances, phone calls, meeting with the “business partners,” and knowingly allowing his family members to promise access to him and actions by him in furtherance of these schemes,” reads the first article of Rep. Steube’s impeachment.

The second article alleging obstruction of justice states, “According to testimony from IRS whistleblowers, members of the Biden campaign improperly colluded with Justice Department (DOJ) officials to improperly interfere with investigations into tax crimes alleged to have been committed by Hunter Biden.”

Articles three and four accuse Biden of fraud and financial involvement in drugs and prostitution.

Rep. Steube explained in detail what his resolution meant during a recent appearance on Newsmax TV.

The congressman also introduced the Helping Understand Narcotics Traces at the Executive Residence aka the Hunter Act to demand information on the filed US Secret Service investigation into the cocaine at the White House.

“The United States Secret Service (USSS) refers to themselves as one of the most elite law enforcement agencies in the world. It’s completely unacceptable that the USSS has failed to find who is responsible for bringing cocaine into one of the most secure buildings in the world,” he said in a statement. “The American people deserve answers. My legislation demands information on the closed investigation into the cocaine found at the White House in July and focuses on how Congress can provide oversight to prevent future illicit usage of controlled substances in the White House.”
