Drama at dinner: Ivanka Trump and Usha’s custom gowns spark liberal ignoramus meltdown

A star-studded soiree for the president-elect included stunning styles, prompting sour grape snowflakes to invoke Taylor Swift as calls for a boycott rang out.

On the eve of President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, family, allies and supporters gathered in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the victory and imminent return to the White House. However, as VIPs like Ivanka Trump and incoming Second Lady Usha Vance were spotted sporting dresses from Oscar de la Renta, the brand was met with “Swift” backlash.

The fashion company whose late founder designed for First Ladies Jackie Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, Hillary Clinton, and Laura Bush, was prominently featured Sunday at a candlelight dinner for the president-elect as Trump’s eldest daughter donned a “custom off-shoulder crystal and pearl floral-embroidered empire waist gown with silver stole.”

Meanwhile, Vice President-elect J.D. Vance’s spouse was seen in a “custom noir velvet gown with asymmetric floral accents and a sweetheart neckline,” while joining her husband at his own D.C. dinner on Saturday.

Those not blinded by partisan pettiness were highly complimentary of the ladies, but ire was inescapable for those suffering Trump Derangement Syndrome as calls rang out for a boycott of the fashion house.

This included at least one self-described Swiftie pushing for the pop star who’d endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to stop wearing the brand.

“Saying this very seriously, as a Swiftie I hope Taylor stops wearing Oscar de la Renta,” came one comment as others used words like “vomit” and “shame” in their reactions opposing associating with anyone in the orbit of the incoming administration.

As it happened, those cries for boycotting a brand were shared on social media platforms like X and Instagram even though Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg are openly working with Trump.

In fact, Musk was seen mingling with Ivanka Trump alongside venture capitalist Shivon Zilis, the mother of three of his children, as well as Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and his fiancée Lauren Sanchez who was seen hugging the president-elect’s eldest daughter.

Other notable weekend revelers who pulled out all the stops when it came to dressing to impress included: Health and Human Services Secretary nominee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and his wife Cheryl Hines, Donald Trump Jr. and influencer girlfriend Bettina Anderson, as well as his former fiancée Kimberly Guilfoyle, nominated by Trump to be U.S. Ambassador to Greece.

Incoming counselor to the president Alina Habba was also celebrated for her style over the weekend as she took to social media to show off her dress and accompanying handbag that bore the message “SAVE AMERICA” as she also reminded that there was less than one day remaining before Trump’s return to the Oval Office.

During an appearance alongside her husband, returning First Lady Melania Trump, who was routinely snubbed by fashion magazines throughout the first administration despite being a model, was seen wearing an ensemble coordinated with the president-elect’s tuxedo.
