James Comey: Trump ‘could be wearing an ankle bracelet’ while accepting GOP nomination

Former FBI Director James Comey shamelessly pushed a guilty until proven innocent narrative against former President Donald Trump as he envisioned a 2024 scenario where leftist dreams and nightmares simultaneously became true.

Distrust in federal institutions continues to rise and the FBI has been at the forefront with the “Twitter Files,” the Durham report, and congressional investigations exposing the depths of its corruption. That didn’t stop Comey from taking an air of superiority as he pontificated on the outcome of ongoing investigations against Trump.

In a preview of her interview with the former FBI head on “Inside with Jen Psaki,” MSNBC host Jen Psaki asked Comey, “Can you envision a scenario where Trump manages to win back the White House and justice is delayed?”

“I could. I don’t want to, but I could,” he replied, as he continued the Alinsky-ite tactics from his time with the agency where the ends justified the means, and the end was to destroy the president’s reputation. “I mean, it’s this crazy world that Donald Trump has dragged this country into, but he could be wearing an ankle bracelet while accepting the nomination at the Republican convention.”

Psaki further painted the imagery of the progressive horror story by suggesting, “And could be wearing an ankle bracelet and be elected in November.”

“Yeah, we could have — it would be rejected if you put it in a script for a show,” Comey contended as he took on the persona of a successful author pushing his novel, “but you could have a president who is potentially incarcerated when he is elected president. So that would be weird and awkward and it seems even crazy to be coming out of my mouth, but that’s the situation we face.”

What wasn’t seen in the clip was the former director taking any responsibility for the conduct of the FBI under his watch that kicked off the years-long Russian collusion hoax. As South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham had tweeted after special counsel John Durham’s final report came out, “The Durham Report is a damning indictment of the FBI under James Comey and the operations of the Department of Justice. Their behavior during the Crossfire Hurricane investigation reads like a page out of the Nixon playbook.”

The lawmaker also argued, “The Durham report is damning. It shows the FBI became a political weapon. They wanted to get Trump. They didn’t care how they did it.”

Of course, the interview with Psaki is premiering only days after Comey defended his former agency while director Christopher Wray had to be threatened with being held in contempt of Congress to abide by a subpoena issued regarding the investigation into President Joe Biden’s alleged influence peddling schemes.

“The FBI will be fine in the long run,” he told CNN’s Poppy Harlow. “This fever around Donald Trump and the MAGA world will eventually break, but it’s become somehow a nutty article of faith that the FBI is out to get Republicans.”

“If you’d asked people twenty years ago whether that would be the accusation, they’d say, ‘That’s nuts.’ It’s nuts, but it will pass,” he added.
