JD Vance warns Fox News it will be a HUGE MISTAKE move away from MAGA base

Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio, expressed concern about Fox News potentially going “to war” with the MAGA base in the wake of Tucker Carlson’s exit from the network.

Calling the decision to part ways with Carlson a “huge mistake,” Vance appeared on Newsmax’s “The Balance” to urge Fox News to “stay loyal” to its conservative audience.

“Tucker’s a dear friend of mine and I think, like you said, a great leader in the conservative movement. A huge mistake for Fox to part ways with him in the way that they did,” he said. “I’m sure all the details will come out. I will say, for Tucker Carlson’s sake, I’m not worried about him. He’s a once-in-a-generation talent and I think he’ll continue to have an important voice in our movement, at least I hope so, because I think that voice is so unique.”

“I don’t like this idea of having Fox move away from the MAGA movement. I think it would be a huge mistake if the network chose to do that,” he added, insisting the network would come out on the losing end as far as viewership is concerned if it takes on the Republican base.

“If they decide to try to go to war against the base of the Republican Party, they’re going to alienate their audience and they’re not going to acquire, like, CNN and MSNBC viewers in the process,” Vance said. “They’re never going to go to Fox News. So I don’t know what editorial decisions are being made at Fox, but I hope that they stay loyal to the base of the movement that actually made them such a successful business in the first place. We’ll see if that actually happens in the next few weeks.”

Fox News certainly risks alienating Tucker Carlson’s 3.5 million viewers.

Megyn Kelly, a former host at the network, warned on Monday that Fox News’ head of public relations is running “an orchestrated hit job” to smear Carlson.

“This is all an orchestrated hit job, in my opinion, and it’s not a subtle one,” Kelly said on her popular podcast.

“It’s not enough to fire you,” she noted. “You must be destroyed, and it doesn’t matter how nice a guy you were, how many points you put on the board for the channel, that you brought us through the Trump years, that you were No. 1 in your time slot, that you haven’t said one negative word about us.”
