Jean-Pierre, Doocy clash when he questions her wild immigration claim, border troops

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre made a remarkable, even stunning claim that illegal immigration is down 90% and did not take kindly to being confronted on the dishonest claim that was quickly debunked.

“And that’s why you’ve seen the parolee program be so successful. It has. It has. It has,” President Joe Biden’s spokesperson said on Monday. “When it comes to illegal migration, you have seen it come down by more than 90%, and that’s because of the actions that this president has taken.”

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy questioned that claim at Tuesday’s press briefing and a perturbed KJP was a bit touchy.

“You said yesterday that when it comes to illegal migration, you’ve seen it come down by more than 90%. Where did that number come from?” Doocy asked, before trying to cite U.S. Customs and Border Protection to point to an increase.

Not allowing him to finish, Jean-Pierre countered, “I hear you, I’m about to answer… I’m about to answer if the dramatics would come down just a little bit.”

Astonished by her response, Doocy asked, “What’s dramatic about asking a question?”

“So I was speaking to the parolee program. As you know, the president put in place a parolee program to deal with certain countries on ways that we can limit illegal migration,” Jean-Pierre said. “And we have seen the data has shown us that it has gone down by more than a percent. That was what I was speaking to,’ she said.

Twitter’s Community Notes said of Jean-Pierre’s initial claim, “The number of migrants crossing the US southern border has hit a 20 year record high. U.S. border officials recorded a 25% jump in migrant crossings in March.”

Doocy tried to follow up but Biden’s diversity hire could not move on fast enough. Earlier, he drew a death stare when he questioned the Biden administration deploying 1,500 active-duty troops to the southern border to provide operational support to U.S. immigration authorities ahead of the coming termination of Title 42.

“If the border is secure, as the administration has said, then why would we need to send 1,500 active-duty U.S. troops down there?” he asked.

On the same day Jean-Pierre claimed a dramatic drop, Fox News’s Bill Melugin reported on Twitter: “Per multiple CBP sources, Border Patrol had over 20,000 migrants in federal custody earlier today, as encounters continue to skyrocket across the southern border, hovering between 7,000-8,000 per day in recent days, not counting gotaways. Several sectors going over capacity.”

He also debunked Tuesday’s parolee program claim, explaining, “False. There was a window of time earlier this year where encounters with Venezuelans, Nicaraguans, and Cubans did temporarily dip 90% after a policy change, but other countries, like China, shot up over 800%. Illegal crossings, including Venezuelans, back at peak highs now.”

Overall, as noted by the RNC, a STUNNING 6.3 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border since Biden took office.

As for the expiration of Title 42, chaos is coming:
