Jean-Pierre pivots from racist Dem LA councilwoman scandal to attack ‘MAGA Republicans’

The longer White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre remains in her current role, the easier it is to understand why she was chosen despite being so bad at the job — which is not a reference to her having checked all the right diversity boxes.

In commenting on the racist remarks from the former president of the Los Angeles city council and the city’s district attorney after a reporter asked if President Biden was aware of the controversy, Jean-Pierre seized on the opportunity to attack “MAGA Republicans” with the same hateful, divisive rhetoric that is now standard fare for the radical left that now controls the Democratic Party — for the record, the LA city councilwoman who resigned from her leadership role, Nury Martinez, is a Democrat.

“The president is glad to see that one of the participants in that conversation has resigned,” Jean-Pierre said. “But they all should. He believes that they all should resign. The language that was used and tolerated during that conversation was unacceptable and it was appalling.”

Martinez is reportedly taking a leave of absence from the Los Angeles City Council after being heard on leaked audio calling the apparently misbehaving black son of a fellow council member “that little monkey,” BUT remains in the seat for now.

Jean-Pierre, however, saw fit to attack the Republican Party anyway.

“And here’s the difference between Democrats and MAGA Republicans,” she said. “When a Democrat says something racist or anti-Semitic, we hold Democrats accountable. When a MAGA Republican says something racist or anti-Semitic, they’re embraced by cheering crowds and become celebrated and sought after endorsements.”

Her remark being an apparent reference to Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., speaking at a Trump rally over the weekend against reparations for the descendants of slaves.

“They want reparations ’cause they think people that do the crime are owed. Bullshit! They’re not owed that!” the senator said.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story from Twitter showing a theme around the divisive nature of the Biden administration:
