Jean-Pierre rails against new Oklahoma abortion ban protecting unborn as ‘extreme,’ ‘absurd,’ ‘ultra MAGA’

The White House appears to be all in on their “ultra-MAGA” campaign which seeks to make the midterm elections all about Donald Trump by linking Republicans to the former president, even on the issue of abortion.

On Thursday, the Oklahoma legislature passed a bill banning all abortions after the moment of conception except in cases of rape, incest, or to save the mother’s life, Fox News reported. The legislation outlaws any procedures that “cause the death of an unborn child,” which is defined as a “human fetus or embryo in any stage of gestation from fertilization until birth.” Gov. Kevin Stitt, a Republican who last month signed the first bill prohibiting nonbinary gender markers from being issued on Oklahoma birth certificates, is expected to sign the bill into law.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre released a statement late Thursday calling H.B. 4327 “extreme,” “absurd,” and “ultra MAGA.”

“The President believes that women have the fundamental right to make their own reproductive health choices. Roe has been the law of the land for almost 50 years, and basic fairness and the stability of our law demand that it not be overturned,” the release said. “Today’s action by the Oklahoma legislature is the most extreme effort to undo these fundamental rights we have seen to date.  In addition, it adopts Texas’ absurd plan to allow private citizens to sue their neighbors for providing reproductive health care and helping women to exercise their constitutional rights.”

The president’s spokesperson pushed the same line employed by her boss after an unprecedented leaked majority opinion draft indicating that the Supreme Court may overturn Roe v. Wade — Biden has suggested this could lead to a ban on same-sex marriages, a right to contraception, and even a ban on LQBTQ children from the classroom, He also said the “MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history.”

“This is part of a growing effort by ultra MAGA officials across the country to roll back the freedoms we should not take for granted in this country,” Jean-Pierre continued. “They are starting with reproductive rights, but the American people need to know that other fundamental rights, including the right to contraception and marriage equality, are at risk.

“The President is committed to standing up for these constitutional rights, and for protecting Americans’ fundamental freedoms,” she added.
