The United States is aware that it bombed an elementary school, suspects Fox News Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin.
A school in Minab was struck by a missile during the U.S.-Israeli joint bombing of Iran, resulting in the deaths of at least 175 people, including many young girls. It is believed to be the result of a Tomahawk missile strike, which neither Iran nor Israel reportedly possesses. However, President Donald Trump denied the possibility on Sunday, claiming that it was actually an Iranian missile that hit the school.
“No, in my opinion, based on what I’ve seen, that was done by Iran,” the president said to a reporter aboard Air Force One.
On Monday, he avoided directly accusing Iran of the strike, but claimed that Iran did have access to Tomahawk missiles.
“And I will say that the Tomahawk, which is one of the most powerful weapons around, is used by, you know, is sold and used by other countries,” the president said. “You know that. And whether it’s Iran, who also has some Tomahawks. They wish they had more, but whether it’s Iran or somebody else, the fact that a Tomahawk, a Tomahawk is very generic. It’s sold to other countries, but that’s being investigated right now.”
War Department Secretary Pete Hegseth confirmed that there is an investigation being conducted into the incident, but noted that “the only side that targets civilians is Iran.”
Griffin believes that Trump knows the United States made a mistake in hitting the school, but the president is attempting to “muddy the waters.”

“Well, that was a bit surprising to me because basically, the U.S. has Tomahawks. Tomahawks have been fired from either submarines or from warships. The Brits and the Australians have Tomahawks, but they’re not part of this conflict,” she stated. “And then you also have the Japanese, who are in a testing phase. So, it seems highly unlikely that it would be anyone’s Tomahawk other than a U.S. Tomahawk that hit that school. And I think the president knows that. He just knows that this is certainly a mistake, a big mistake, and it’s being investigated. But, he is trying to sort of muddy the waters by talking about the Tomahawks.”
“Are we sure it’s a Tomahawk that hit that school?” host Bret Baier asked.
“There’s no evidence that the Iranians fired anything at the school. And if you look at satellite images, and there’s been a lot of investigations from the air, from these satellite photos showing the impact and showing likelihood that it was a Tomahawk,” she replied.
