In a display of true bravery, Fox News senior White House correspondent Peter Doocy reported from the floor of the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night, and one particular exchange with attendees over expected celebrities summed his experience up well.
Amid flowing rumors that Beyoncé was going to appear at the event to not only perform but endorse the newly installed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris, Doocy tried to get the crowd’s take on matters and things went about as well as you might imagine.
The segment came during the airing of Jesse Watters PrimeTime, with the show’s host and namesake playfully jabbing at Doocy for getting “scolded.”

“Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt. Do you guys know which celebrities are coming tonight?” Doocy asked a group of attendees from Ohio.
One woman responded to say the Chicks, a left-wing country group formerly known as the Dixie Chicks, would be performing, along with Pink.
When someone mentioned another possibility, Doocy responded, “Is Beyoncé coming?”
This prompted a rather serious man to intervene, “This is a serious convention. This is about issues. This is about issues. This is about America.”
The great irony here is that Democrat speakers have talked about everything BUT issues at the convention.
“Are you gonna go backstage and tell them to tell the celebrities not to come out or should I?” Doocy ribbed the man.
“You should tell them that. That’s you. You should tell them that,” the man replied.
When Doocy turned to the larger crowd to ask if they didn’t want Beyoncé to come out, the serious man protested, “Don’t do this.”
“No, no. Ok, apologies ok. Alright, alright. Ok. We’ll keep it going. We’ll keep it going. So, there is some debate about the effectiveness of celebrities down here with the Ohio delegation,” he said, throwing it back to Watters.
“You got scolded! That was fun to watch,” Watters said with a laugh. “I guess a lot of people enjoyed seeing that.”
“It’s what we’re here for,” Doocy shot back, seemingly knowing what he was up against.
Interestingly, there was a suggestion online that DNC organizers intentionally misled attendees about Beyoncé appearing to generate buzz — and a full arena.
Kamala Harris is so bad at this her own party had to lie and tell attendees Beyoncé was coming so people wouldn’t bail before Harris’s speech and leave a bunch of empty seats for the cameras. Amazing. https://t.co/tnFap6tXsW
