Jesse Watters takes victory lap when Mass. town agrees to display Christmas tree, unhinged official resigns

Some on the left continue to fight the War on Christmas — even as they mock the right about such a contest being a figment of their imagination — with the “Bah, Humbug!” cabal taking another loss this week in Massachusetts.

A human rights commissioner at the center of a controversy over a Christmas tree at a town library has resigned after ridiculing God as the “magic sky daddy.”

The story involving the town of Dedham breaking with years of tradition and not setting up a Christmas tree was featured on Fox News’s “Jesse Watters Primetime.” A town librarian reportedly did not want the tree displayed because some people were allegedly “uncomfortable” with it, but host and show namesake Jesse Watters reported Monday night that the town reversed that decision.

“Today, Primetime scored another major victory for America. We’ve won the first battle in the war on Christmas. Today, the tiny town of Dedham, Massachusetts, decided that their library will, in fact, put up their annual Christmas tree after some pressure from Primetime,” the host celebrated.

Watters then recounted last week’s story “about a Scrooge named Amber Maroney.”

“She’s the town’s library director, and she banned Christmas trees because they made people feel ‘uncomfortable,'” he explained. “You see, to some people, there’s nothing more offensive than twinkling lights on a Douglas fir, so there was no way the tree could go up this year. Look at last year’s tree. How offensive. But one brave foot soldier sounded the alarm.”

“So, you can celebrate Kwanzaa at the library, but you can’t celebrate Christmas? Does anybody in Dedham, Massachusetts even celebrate Kwanzaa? This doesn’t sit well with Primetime and, so, we believe we should be able to celebrate all holidays,” Watters continued. “As they say, the more the merrier. So, we announced our intention to visit this misguided Massachusetts town.”

And with that, Watters is convinced the town caved.

“Guess what? We didn’t even have to go caroling to change their minds,” he said. “It was the mere threat of me caroling that moved the needle. Today, the town of Dedham announced that the Christmas tree is going back up.”

Back to the now-former Dedham Human Rights commissioner, Diane Loud, she took to Facebook to attack library supervisor Lisa Desmond, who called attention to the Christmas tree not being set up, calling her “‘a selfish f**king b*tch” and accusing her of putting the lives of library staff in danger — a now familiar angle from the left.

“For a tree? For a mother f**king tree? You have put people’s lives in a lot of danger. A LOT of danger,” Loud wrote. “Is this what you think your magic sky daddy wants? Where in the Bible was this again?”

Another familiar trait on the left is a lot of pent-up anger, and Loud appeared to be chock full.

“I hope the fact that you – who claim to believe in Christ and Christmas or whatever happy horses – you’re trying to hide behind – are the least gracious, most hateful, most disgusting trash in the world,” she wrote.

“In closing, I would like to add a F*** YOU, YOU PIECES OF TRASH. I hate each and every one of you and I do wish great suffering on you,” Loud concluded. “You are terrible, terrible people. And you did it all because you didn’t get your way. You are despicable.”

The sudden turnaround came after Watters’ focus on the story, with the library director releasing a statement on Monday.

“At the Dedham Public Library we do our best to respect the wide variety of viewpoints and beliefs in our community, including those who choose to celebrate Christmas and other winter holidays,” the director said. “To be clear, there is no ban on Christmas at the Dedham library.”

“What has played out on social media is unfortunate, it has negatively impacted our staff and the community, and frankly, transpired before we had even started our seasonal decorating,” the release stated, before adding, “As we finish decorating for this holiday season, Christmas trees will be put up at both locations.”
