Former CNN reporter Jim Acosta is having a completely normal reaction to the Kennedy Center renaming.
On Friday, the Donald J. Trump and the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, shortened to the Trump-Kennedy Center, was unveiled. The center described the decision to add Trump’s name to the center as “honoring the leadership of President Donald J. Trump and the enduring legacy of John F. Kennedy.”

Acosta visited “the scene of the crime” to report on the renaming effort, but vowed “we will never call it the Trump Kennedy Center.”

“Well, here we are at the scene of yet another crime committed by Donald Trump. He has vandalized the Kennedy Center by putting his name on it. And he just needs to understand that, first of all, he can’t do this single-handedly. Only Congress can authorize a change of name to The Kennedy Center. Yet he doesn’t care about the law, he doesn’t care about what is appropriate, he’s gone and vandalized the Kennedy Center, which is, we should note, the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts,” Acosta reported. “It was named after President Kennedy after he was assassinated.”
“Donald Trump should show some respect for that, but of course, he doesn’t do that. And, you know, this is what needs to be said; we, the American people, are not going to call the Kennedy Center the Trump-Kennedy Center, just like we’re not going to call the Department of Defense the Department of War or the Gulf of Mexico the ‘Gulf of America.’ We, the sane, rational American people, are not going to go along with that,” he continued. “So Trump can continue to act like a child, he can be a vandal, put his name up on all these buildings, but it’s not going to change what the rest of us do in response to what has been a childish and lawless administration.”
While Acosta turned off the comments on his X post, that didn’t stop “we the American people” from weighing in on his hissy fit:
lol the impotent smile at the end 😂 “childish & lawless” LOL nice projection! you sure had a hand in propagandizing the left to further violently hate the right, so good job there a-hole https://t.co/ldjRP9DIy6
