Jim Jordan launches probe into motivation of Fulton DA Fani Willis. Did she coordinate with the feds?

House Republicans moved to launch a probe into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis that seeks answers about her motivation and timing of the sweeping racketeering indictments of former President Donald J. Trump and 18 others over questioning the results of the 2020 election.

On Thursday, hours before Trump was set to surrender and have his booking photo taken at the Fulton County jail that is currently under a federal investigation for deplorable conditions, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) fired off a letter to Willis calling for all records related to the indictment.

The House investigation is also questioning whether Willis and her office coordinated efforts with the Biden Justice Department and its underhanded legal hitman, special counsel Jack Smith

In a press release posted to its website, the House Judiciary Committee announced, “Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) sent a letter to Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis demanding information and communications with the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Executive Branch officials, and information on federal funding that the office receives.”

“This letter comes as the Committee launches an inquiry into whether the Fulton County District Attorney’s office coordinated with federal officials, including DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith, for its politicized indictment of former President Donald Trump, a former White House Chief of Staff, and a former U.S. DOJ official,” the statement reads.

“Ms. Willis’s indictment and prosecution implicate substantial federal interests, and the circumstances surrounding her actions raise serious concerns about whether such actions are politically motivated,” the committee stated. “Given the weighty federal interests at stake, the Committee is conducting oversight of this matter to determine whether any legislative reforms are appropriate or necessary.”

“Was Fulton County DA Fani Willis working with Jack Smith?” Jordan asked on Twitter/X. “Was she communicating with the Executive Branch? Were any federal funds used in the investigation of President Trump?”

“The timing of this prosecution reinforces concerns about your motivation. In February 2021, news outlets reported that you directed your office to open an investigation into President Trump. Indeed, sometime on or around February 11, 2021, your office purportedly sent a letter to several Republican officials in Georgia, requesting that they preserve documents relating to a ‘matter . . . of high priority’ that your office was investigating. Yet, you did not bring charges until two-and-a-half years later, at a time when the campaign for the Republican presidential nomination is in full swing,” Jordan wrote in the five-page letter.

The Judiciary chairman also wrote, that “there are questions about whether and how your office coordinated with DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith during the course of this investigation, and Congress has an interest in any such activity that involves federal law enforcement agencies and officials that fall under its oversight. News outlets have reported that your office and Mr. Smith ‘interviewed many of the same witnesses and reviewed much of the same evidence” in reaching your decision to indict President Trump.”

Before he departed for Fulton County for the media circus of his latest politically motivated arrest, Trump raged against “Radical Left, Lowlife District Attorney, Fani Willis” on Truth Social.

“Why is there so much MURDER in Atlanta? Why is there so much Violent Crime? People are afraid to go outside to buy a loaf of bread! One big reason is that failed District Attorney, Fani Willis, who is campaigning and fundraising off “get Trump” (much like the others!), doesn’t have the Time, Money, or Interest to go after the real criminals, even the REALLY Violent ones, that are destroying Atlanta, and its once beautiful culture and way of life. This is yet another SAD DAY IN AMERICA!” Trump wrote in a second Truth Social blast.

The letter requests that Willis provide, “All documents and communications referring or relating to the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office’s receipt and use of federal funds,” as well as “All documents and communications between or among the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and DOJ and its components, including but not limited to the Office of Special Counsel Jack Smith, referring or relating to your office’s investigation of President Donald Trump or any of the other eighteen individuals against whom charges were brought in the indictment discussed above.”

Jordan is also seeking communication that could implicate the White House, asking for “All documents and communications between the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office and any federal Executive Branch officials regarding your office’s investigation of President Donald Trump or any of the other eighteen individuals against whom charges were brought in the indictment discussed above.”

Willis was given a deadline of no later than 10:00 a.m. on September 7, 2023, to comply.
