Like it never even happened.
After ignoring his seventh grandchild for four years, President Joe Biden casually acknowledged the existence of Hunter Biden’s 4-year-old daughter Navy Joan in an interview Friday on the podcast “On Purpose with Jay Shetty.”
The four-year-old was the end result of an affair Hunter Biden had with a former stripper, with a DNA test confirming he was the father — Hunter was just in court to reduce his child support payments, after previously asking a judge to prevent the child from using the Biden name.
“I have seven grandkids,” the president said for the first time publicly. “Four of them old — five of them old enough to talk on a phone. You know, every day, I either text them or call them!”

Biden released a statement on Friday asking for privacy for a “family matter” — staying true to a well-worn script when it comes to the first son’s shenanigans.
“Our son Hunter and Navy’s mother, Lunden, are working together to foster a relationship that is in the best interests of their daughter, preserving her privacy as much as possible going forward,” the president said in the statement. “This is not a political issue, it’s a family matter.”
Conservative strategist Greg Price noted in a tweet that Biden’s sudden change of heart was motivated more by “bad poll numbers” on the matter than sudden affection for the little girl.
“Incredible. As if the last four years never existed, Joe Biden is now saying publicly that he has seven grandkids. And the only reason he’s doing it is because of bad poll numbers, not because, ya know, the little girl is family,” Price tweeted.

Keep in mind that New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd penned a scathing column just three weeks ago reminding President Biden that he had a seventh grandchild:
It took the New York Times to get Joe Biden to admit to his 4-year-old 7th Grandchild, Navy Joan. The coward President waited to announce the news on a Friday afternoon in a PEOPLE MAG puff piece.

Here’s a quick sampling of other responses to the story from Twitter:
It took a scathing column from Maureen Dowd to shame him into acknowledging his seventh grandchild. What scumbags the Biden’s are.

They went to court to make sure she couldn’t use the last name “Biden”
Even though Hunter Biden is her father.

Imagine being the type of person who decides how they feel about their grandchildren based on polling data. https://t.co/D3wyRyt1LV
