California Governor Gavin Newsom’s unabashed praise of President Joe Biden earned him mockery from podcast host Joe Rogan who called the Democrat out as an actor performing as a “crazy person.”
Speaking with Manhattan Institute senior fellow Christopher Rufo, the host of The Joe Rogan Experience podcast drew attention to a recent MSNBC interview of Newsom in which he touted Biden’s leadership and character.
“When you just look at the way he praised Biden, ‘I would never run against him, a man of character!’ You know, like, ‘I’m old school,’” Rogan said, mocking Newsom’s words.
“God! it’s like he’s playing someone in a movie that’s a crazy person,” he observed.

“That’s how a really good actor would play a complete crazy person, who is insincere enough that smart people recognize it, but that, like, really dull-minded, blue-no-matter-who people are like, ‘He’s a winner, that guy he’s got my vote, I’ll tell you what he can win, he can win this for us,’” Rogan continued.
Newsom was asked by MSNBC’s Alex Wagner about running for president and saving Democrats from Biden as the nominee. But the governor dismissed the idea, praising Biden’s “record of accomplishments” and calling him a “man of character, a man of decency.”
“I’m old school,” Newsom said at the time. “Talk about loyalty, I’ll go to the ends of the earth for this guy, I really would. I’m not making that up.”

“The problem is that that’s not wrong,” Rufo told Rogan.
“I mean, Gavin Newsom is a fearsome political talent, and his willingness to do or say anything and do it with a straight face with that sincere voice and that cool, swoopy hair,” he added.
“I love that he keeps getting busted, too,” Rogan noted, recollecting the time Newsom “got busted during the pandemic eating inside with no mask on.”
“The shamelessness on that guy, it’s like a laboratory specimen, he’s an interesting guy and fascinating person in that way,” Rufo said.
“I’m not a fan, I disagree with him politically, but I don’t think he should be underestimated, because those of us who can see through it, I think are actually a pretty small number of people,” he pointed out.
Newsom was again singing Biden’s praises in a “Meet the Press” appearance last month, declaring that he is “absolutely all in” on another term for the 81-year-old president.
“Here’s my point: it’s because of his age that he’s been so successful,” the Democrat ridiculously stated.

Newsom fawned over Biden’s presidency as a “masterclass” and added that“the opportunity to express that for four more years, what a gift it is for the American people. And as a Democrat, what a gift it is for me to make the case for the leader of our party, Joe Biden.”
