Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) has a way with words that makes him unique in American politics, and you don’t want to be on the business end of one of his metaphors.
The senator has a knack for saying what everyone else is thinking, but making it much funnier and more charming than what most of us would come up with. He flexed this skill again on Wednesday while sharing an article about Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and NYC mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani.
Look:
Everybody had a kid in their class growing up who ate paste.
The problem is that Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez both grew up to be the leaders of today’s Democratic Party—and the rest of the party has no idea what to do.https://t.co/KSWq760LN2

“Everybody had a kid in their class growing up who ate paste,” Kennedy snarked. “The problem is that Zohran Mamdani and Rep. Ocasio-Cortez both grew up to be the leaders of today’s Democratic Party—and the rest of the party has no idea what to do.”
X users had a lot to say, both about Kennedy’s wit and about the Democratic Socialists from New York:
Best for Democrats to just let these two talk. Neither has substance. Nail them down and ask specific questions on their ideology.

I must take issue with @SenJohnKennedy — Mamdani & Ocasio-Cortez seem to me to be the kids NY tried to warn not to eat lead paint chips because it would stunt brain growth.
I opine they didn’t pay attention to that advice when they were young. https://t.co/cCG24LpSW1
