Jon Stewart backs DEI ideology: ‘A salve… to pacify and mollify because we won’t do the real thing’

Comedian Jon Stewart exercised his woke bonafides Sunday as he both knocked conservative concern over the prevalence of diversity, inclusion and equity and encouraged leftists to go even further.

The host of Apple TV+’s “The Problem with Jon Stewart” joined CNN’s “Fareed Zakaria GPS” for his latest airing of grievances over the ineffectual performance of Congress spiced up with slams against the Republican Party. Toward that end, Zakaria teed up the former “The Daily Show” star on the topic of critical race theory which Stewart would label merely “a salve.”

“So nowadays when you watch Republicans campaign against Democrats, they don’t campaign much on what they used to which was, you know, the Democrats were big spenders or whatever,” Zakaria claimed. “You know, it’s all about critical race theory and it’s all this cancel culture stuff. Why does it work and what should Democrats do? Are they falling for a bait in doing this, in talking about these issues?”

In response, Stewart offered, “I mean, I don’t know if they’re falling for a bait, but, I mean, I think, again, I don’t even think half of the Republicans who do it even mean it.”

After proceeding to deliver a baseless screed claiming the right was “out of governing ideas,” he went on to suggest they worked to create a “purposeful distortion field.”

In other words, as far as the comedian was concerned, the reality that school districts were actively disenfranchising white and Asian students and unions were encouraging teachers to become a “form of resistance against the harmful effects of whiteness” was nothing more than a contrived smokescreen.

When Zakaria suggested most average Americans don’t know what CRT even stands for, Stewart argued, “But, Fareed, that’s — the guy who came up with that, that’s purposeful. His plan is make everything CRT. And by the way, all this diversity initiatives and CRT and all those other things are only there because we refuse to actually fix the real problem.”

“The diversity and equity initiatives are a salve,” he concluded before pushing that more needed to be done. “They’re a — to pacify and mollify because we won’t actually do the real thing. We won’t actually dismantle the vestiges of all the systemic racism and all this systemic classism and all the systemic gender issues. We won’t actually dismantle that. But what we will do is you can have an office in the building. And every few months we’re going to have to sit and listen to you talk for like an hour. And so we’re good, right?”

What Stewart did not do, as he decried the alleged lack of ideas from Republicans and peddled platitudes, was offer anything that even bordered on a concrete action he would like to see instead of the already detrimental and divisive equity initiatives.
