‘JUSTICE IN AMERICA!’ Trump reacts to Comey indictment

President Donald Trump wasted little time reacting to disgraced former FBI director James Comey being indicted Thursday on charges of making a false statement and obstruction related to testimony he gave before the Senate Judiciary Committee in 2020.

“JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Today he was indicted by a Grand Jury on two felony counts for various illegal and unlawful acts. He has been so bad for our Country, for so long, and is now at the beginning of being held responsible for his crimes against our Nation. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Comey’s FBI was behind the counterintelligence investigation (Crossfire Hurricane) targeting the 2016 Trump presidential campaign, which included altering information on Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants against former Trump campaign associate Carter Page, with the former director being a primary driver of the Russian collusion hoax.

Former Deputy Assistant Director of Counterintelligence Peter Strzok, an acknowledged Trump-hater, formally launched “Crossfire Hurricane” on July 31, 2016.

“What they did was so terrible and so corrupt,” Trump told Fox News. “We had a great administration, though.”

“He is a very corrupt person. He was absolutely a terrible man for what this country stood for,” Trump said of Comey, adding that he “placed a cloud over the entire nation, and actually, the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax made it very difficult. It could have caused wars.”

The former FBI director responded to the indictment in a video released on social media.

“My family and I have known for years that there are costs to standing up to Donald Trump, but we couldn’t imagine ourselves living any other way. We will not live on our knees, and you shouldn’t either. Somebody that I love dearly recently said that fear is the tool of a tyrant, and she’s right,” Comey said.

“I’m not afraid, and I hope you’re not either,” he added. “I hope instead you are engaged, you are paying attention, and you will vote like your beloved country depends upon it, which it does. My heart is broken for the Department of Justice, but I have great confidence in the federal judicial system, and I’m innocent. So let’s have a trial and keep the faith.”

On that note, Politico reported that the Comey indictment case was assigned to Biden-appointee Judge Michael S. Nachmanoff.
