Kari Lake brings receipts! Fireball candidate pits 20-yr-old campaign staffer against ‘seasoned’ reporters

Be it her more than 20 years covering the news or her inclination to put facts first, Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has remained unflappable before corporate media, and Monday she took them to school over “crock of B.S.” biased coverage of so-called “election denial”–with receipts.

During her campaign to represent the people of The Grand Canyon State as their executive, Lake has presented no qualms with tackling issues head-on. While her opponent, Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D), has avoided debates and answering questions from anyone who might not be considered an ally, Lake has set about a tour to let voters ask her anything.

At such an event Monday, the candidate also answered reporters who confronted her yet again with accusations of her being an “election denier.”

“Here’s 150 examples of Democrats denying election results. Oh wow, look at this,” Lake said after taking a stack of papers from an aide.

“Anthony, how old are you? Are you a journalist?” she asked of the young man who replied he wasn’t and that he was 20 years old. To that, the candidate lauded, “Well, you did better research than half these people.”

“Let’s talk about election deniers,” Lake continued, armed with pages of evidence, “…This is from Joe Biden’s press secretary, ‘Reminder Brian Kemp stole the gubernatorial election from Georgians and Stacey Abrams.’ A Democrat saying that, is that an election denier?”

“Oh look at this, ‘Just heard Republican Ryan Costello say it would be difficult for Stacey Abrams to win because she lost her state bid,’ but yet she’s still claiming she never lost,” she continued before turning to another page, “Hillary Clinton, ‘Trump is an illegitimate president.’ Is she an election denier?”

Lake had foreshadowed such a presentation Sunday after an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Dana Bash where they were supposed to discuss issues that devolved into another debate on the integrity of the 2020 presidential election. “You called the 2020 presidential election corrupt, stolen, rotten and rigged and there is no evidence of any of that presented in a court of law or anywhere else,” Bash qualified. “So why do you keep saying that?”

“Well, there’s plenty of evidence. We had 740,000 ballots with no chain of custody, those ballots shouldn’t have been counted,” Lake responded before being interrupted, “Where is the evidence of that?”

“Dana, there’s plenty of evidence, I’m happy to send it to your team. The problem is the media won’t cover it,” Lake went on before again pointing out the distrust for elections since at least the year 2000.

“This one says, ‘Was the 2016 election legitimate? It now definitely is a question worth asking.’ That’s the Los Angeles Times,” the candidate continued on Monday before landing, “So it’s okay for Democrats to question elections, but it’s not okay for Republicans. It’s a crock of B.S., everyone of you knows it, we have our freedom of speech and we’re not gonna relinquish it to a bunch of fake news propagandists.”

Truly slamming the “professionals,” Lake added, “If you want a copy of these, I’m sure that Anthony would help you get a copy and help you learn how to be journalists, but look it up. This has been happening for a long time. Since 2000, people have questioned the legitimacy of our elections and all we’re asking is that in the future we don’t have that have to happen anymore.”

“When I’m governor we’re gonna make sure we have honest elections,” she explained. We want the Democrats, the Independents and the Republicans to all know that their vote counted. We want fair, honest and transparent elections and we’re going to deliver that for the people.”

“But just remember, guys…’Hillary Clinton says George W. Bush was selected president, not elected.’ So let’s start–if you’re gonna start throwing around terms like election denier,” Lake concluded before moving on to the next question, “let’s remember who the other election deniers were: Hillary Clinton and all the Democrats.”
