Former Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has revealed that she’d recently run into MSNBC hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski at the Palm Beach International Airport.
Scarborough was, according to Lake, as pleasant as could be. Brzezinski, not so much.
She revealed all this while speaking on Steve Bannon’s podcast Thursday.
Listen:
“I happened to be at the airport in West Palm Beach, and I was leaving, and I happened to see Joe Scarborough. So I turned around and got on the escalator down, and he was heading into the restroom, and I said, ‘Hey, Joe!’ He was nice. He said, ‘Hey,'” she recalled.
“I said, ‘You know, I just wanted to introduce myself because you guys spend an awful amount of time badmouthing me on your show, and I just wanted to put the human being behind the face that you guys kind of go after,'” she added.
But while Scarborough was nice about all this, Brzezinski allegedly was not. In fact, she started recording her just like an annoying “Karen” might do.
“Mika was not very pleasant. She started recording me, unbeknownst to me, which is fine. And when I called her out, are you recording this, she said yes. And Joe said, ‘Don’t do that.’ He was a little bit perturbed that she was recording. But I just said, ‘Look, I’m the human being behind the person you guys like to bash 24/7, and that’s ok. but I just wanted to introduce myself,'” Lake recalled.
“And then her handler … said you’re a liar, you’re an election denier, and you’re delusional and all of this. And I said I’d love to come on your show and talk about it. And I’ve never lied once about elections. I’m speaking the truth about elections. I’m in this because I’m a mom who’s concerned about my children’s future. That’s why I got into politics,” she continued.
Concluding her story, Lake again stressed how Scarborough had acted like a perfect gentleman whereas his wife had acted like an uncouth jackass.
“So it was a rather interesting exchange. But I just thought I’d take the opportunity to introduce myself to these people because they seem to talk about me quite a bit. Joe Scarborough said actually we don’t badmouth you. We talk about what a talent you are. You are one of the great talents in all of politics. He was actually pretty nice. But Mika was not the most pleasant person,” she said.
Ran into Joe & Mika from @MSNBC at the airport. @joenbc was fairly nice, but his wife @morningmika started recording me, called me a “Liar” & said I was “Delusional”
They constantly lie & disparage me on National TV. I wonder if they’d be brave enough to have me on their show? pic.twitter.com/2HZZSG9yDM

Responding to this story, Bannon suggested that Brzezinski may have been annoyed that her husband was so nice to her.
“I don’t think Mika was digging on the fact that he was pleasant to you,” he said.
Lake continued the discussion by predicting that Brzezinski won’t release the recording she’d made.
“I think she won’t, she won’t. She’ll realize that I’m the one who sounded normal and sane, and she sounded unhinged, and she said that I spend my days attacking her,” she said.
“I know Mika has played that tape for Joe about a hundred times to say why did you say that I shouldn’t do this? I know the Mika types. She’s played it a thousand times for Joe,” Bannon replied.
As previously reported, Scarborough and Brzezinski host “Morning Joe,” a far-left morning talk show on MSNBC. The two have been highly critical of Lake, even before she lost the gubernatorial race in Arizona, and began claiming that the election had been stolen from her.
The pair started bashing her as early as Election Day 2022, when they slammed her for stoking stolen election fears. The slam came hours after she delivered a pre-election speech the night before about stolen elections.
“We’re so ready for fair elections, aren’t we? And yet, I know, like many of you, and especially me, I’m worried about tomorrow. These bastards back there don’t want us talking about stolen elections,” she said.
“Well, it doesn’t matter what they attempt tomorrow, because we’re gonna show up like our lives depended on it. And there’s not a darn thing that Katie Hobbs can screw up tomorrow to make our win any less significant, because we’re gonna win tomorrow, we’re gonna vote tomorrow, and we are gonna take Arizona back,” she added.
Responding to these remarks on Election Day morning, Scarborough and Brzezinski brutally mocked the then-gubernatorial candidate, after which Scarborough in particular claimed that her election is a genuine example of “democracy being on the ballot.”
“We have somebody openly saying she will not respect the will of the voter. She will not respect Madisonian democracy if she does not win. That is a danger for the people of Arizona,” he said.
“It ultimately becomes a danger for the people of the United States of America if she is a governor when we’re counting votes in 2024 and there may be an outcome Kari doesn’t like,” he added.
