Karine Jean-Pierre claims trans community is under attack and it goes so horribly wrong for her

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre provoked massive backlash Thursday when she portrayed the transgender community as victims only days after a “transgender man” committed a mass shooting at a Christian school in Nashville.

She offered the offensive portrayal after being questioned during a press briefing about “the White House’s message” for both lawmakers who’re enacting so-called “anti-trans” bills and the protesters who’ve been “protesting” against these bills.

“I know that the White House released a proclamation for Trans Day of Visibility. There is a march happening tomorrow to commemorate this day but also to protest these types of bills that are continuing to be passed and advanced in legislatures across the country,” a reporter said.

“What is the White House’s message to these lawmakers that are passing these bills and to those who are taking to the streets to protest them?” the reporter then asked.

In response, Jean-Pierre launched into a defensive rant about the transgender community.

Listen:

“So, look, first of all, we — we support peaceful protest. We think it’s important for Americans and people just across the country to make their voices heard, just as long it’s peaceful,” the White House press secretary began.

Note that these so-called “peaceful” protests include a “Trans Day of Vengeance.”

“And we’ve been very clear about these anti-LGBTQ bills that we’re seeing in state legislators — state legislatures across the country, in particular these anti-trans bills, as they attack trans kids, as they attack trans parents. It is — it is shameful. And it is unacceptable,” Jean-Pierre continued.

“As you mentioned, tomorrow’s Trans Visibility Day. On a day that we should be lifting up our trans kids, our trans youth, and making sure that they feel seen, we’re seeing more and more of these hateful, hateful bills. And that’s what Republicans want to spend their time on. They don’t want to talk about lowering costs. They don’t want to talk about actually making Americans’ lives better. They want to take away people’s freedoms,” she added.

It’s at this point that she chose to portray the transgender community as victims.

“And one of the things that we saw during the midterm elections is that people don’t want their freedoms to be taken. They want us to fight for their freedoms. And so, it is shameful. It is disturbing. And our hearts go out to the trans community, as they are under attack right now,” she said.

The backlash was swift and deafening:

There’s a lot more where that came from.

The anger stems from the fact that, in the wake of a member of the transgender community committing a mass shooting against Christians, the Biden administration seems far more concerned about the fate of transgender people than the fate of Christians.

And not just them. The media as well.

For example, check out this chyron from MSNBC:

Evidently, to MSNBC the real story this week is about Republicans being critical of the transgender community, not a member of the transgender community murdering six Christians for reasons that are yet unknown.

Here’s another example, this one from NBC:

Christians were just murdered by a “transgender man,” but it’s members of the transgender community who’re fearing for their lives?

Responding to this outrageous tweet, one Twitter user asked a provocative question:

It’s a fair question, no?
