Kat Timpf shares heartwarming post-surgery update after shocking cancer diagnosis

Fox News’ Kat Timpf shared a health update with fans after surgery for a shocking cancer diagnosis.

The 36-year-old comedian and Fox News contributor underwent a double mastectomy after finding out she had breast cancer just hours before she gave birth to her son last month.

Timpf shared a post of herself on Instagram as she rested in bed at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Josie Robertson Surgery Center in New York City.

“Post-op! They’re honestly not much smaller than they were before I got pregnant,” she noted after her surgery in the caption of the photo of her feet with the word “censored.”

In a post in February, Timpf shared her “unconventional birth announcement” after her son with husband Cameron Friscia was born.

“Last week, I welcomed my first child into the world. About fifteen hours before I went into labor, I was diagnosed with breast cancer,” she wrote. “Now, before you worry, my doctor says it’s Stage 0 and is confident that it almost certainly hasn’t spread.  Or, as I’ve explained to the few people I’ve managed to tell about it so far: Don’t freak out. It’s just, like, a LITTLE bit of cancer.”

“I woke up more-than-a-week-past-due pregnant, completely consumed by doing everything I could to get the baby out. By the middle of the afternoon, I was waddling around from appointment to appointment, talking about how to get my cancer out,” she added.

“These next three months of maternity leave are going to look a lot different than I’d anticipated, and I’m still getting used to my new reality,” she had explained. “Still, as I navigate new motherhood (and new cancer) I’m learning to celebrate everything I can.”

Her “dark humor” and heartwarming thanks for support prompted an outpouring of responses on X where Timpf also addressed the unsolicited advice – and criticism – some had offered.

“Trust that I’m making the best decision for me and my family, she said in the video message.

Last week, she shared a photo of herself outside the hospital where she underwent surgery.
