FBI director nominee Kash Patel has apparently won the backing of a key Republican senator who could make or break his confirmation as the man chosen by President Donald J. Trump to clean up the mess at the Bureau.
Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) will introduce Patel at his Thursday hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee where he will be savaged by grandstanding Democrats whose worst nightmare is the de-politicizing of what used to be America’s most highly respected law enforcement agency.
The North Carolina Republican discussed his plans for boosting Patel with Fox News Digital, telling the outlet that he will be introducing the former prosecutor and House Intelligence Committee aide with a speech that will be short and sweet and focus on the longtime public servant’s career.
“I will be sharing about 700 words on his background, his upbringing, his work as a prosecutor, his work in the administration,” Tillis said.
Tillis previously expressed his support for Patel last month.
Kash Patel is the real deal. President Trump campaigned on the promise to enforce our laws equally and fairly and restore the integrity of the FBI. I look forward to supporting @Kash_Patel’s confirmation. pic.twitter.com/LXMuXFypBl

The senator will also hand out copies of the “K$H Bingo” game to GOP Senate colleagues, a mock Bingo card with subjects expected to be brought up by committee Democrats to attack the nominee, including “Deep State,” “Enemies List,” “Retribution,” “Qanon,” “Liz Cheney,” and “Government Gangsters” among others.
“I’m also going to be providing a bingo card because I know what everybody else is going to bring up,” Tillis told Fox News Digital. “We know what the words are. And they already started it, because when they ran out of things to attack [attorney general nominee] Pam Bondi on, they started attacking Kash.”
“We know what they’re going to do. And I want to make it clear to them there’s no Perry Mason moment,” the senator added. “I’m not going to let innuendo and rumors rule the day. I’m going to hold them accountable.”
Tills ended up being the key vote for Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, declining to join RINO Sens. Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Susan Collins (R-ME), and Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) who all sided with Democrats to block badly needed reforms at the Pentagon. Thanks to Tillis’ late support for the decorated military veteran and former Fox News host, they failed.
“Look, I have an obligation to one person in advise and consent, and that is the President of the United States. I take it seriously,” the senator explained.
“I take it very seriously,” Tillis added. “I did with Pete. I ultimately voted for him and had to dispose of the allegations or assess the allegations that came at the eleventh hour.”
“I believe I’ve established — even though I can be a pain to some people — as tedious as I can get with completing my due diligence. I think that it brings with it a certain amount of credibility, and that’s why it’s so important to me. I have to be consistent,” he said.
If confirmed Patel will replace Christopher Wray, possibly the worst director of the FBI in history, who presided over a bureau that was weaponized by political leadership and transformed the agency into the Democratic Party’s secret police that was unleashed on Trump and his supporters including J6 protesters, pro-life advocates, parents at school board meetings and MAGA conservatives in general. A shameful period in the nation’s history.
An outspoken critic of the political weaponization of government, Patel is the right man for the job. And that is exactly why Democrats oppose him.
