Fox News host Brian Kilmeade went in on Anthony Fauci following the release of COVID-19 journal entries.
He pulled no punches on the Tuesday morning airing of Fox & Friends, where he claimed the former NIAID director was a “maniac” who called himself “the most famous and talked about person” in the country in the 2020 journal entries.

“Senator Rand Paul has released 1,141 pages of personal journals of Anthony Fauci’s from during the time he was running our COVID response,” co-host Steve Doocy reported. “A lot of the stuff that he wrote down was different than what he was actually telling us. And that’s got a lot of people’s tongues wagging all over the place because it’s like, was he honest with us? That ultimately is what they are going to be getting to tomorrow in the hearing up on Capitol Hill.”
“This guy’s a maniac,” Kilmeade spat. “We knew he was lying. We knew he was changing his opinions and the statements and his policies per interview. We watched how he reveled in the left-wing causes and with the crazy Hollywood celebrities who couldn’t get enough of him while he was torturing children in school, keeping them from talking to each other, keeping them out of schools forever while denying he was doing just that. In terms of the most vital information, for example, the source of COVID-19, it came from the lab. We said, of course it came [from the lab]. Jon Stewart pointed out to came from the lab!”
The hosts played several clips of Fauci saying that a Wuhan wet market was the origin of the virus.
“So that’s what he was saying in public, but what he was writing in his diary just three and a half months before that first testimony, he was saying something totally different. He said, ‘Now we know the market was not the source, it was the amplifier. Having said that, somewhere, the virus jumped from animals to humans,’” co-host Ainsley Earhardt explained. “We kept saying over and over, how is this guy the top doctor, giving us all advice, when he sits on the board? He was the long-time director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. That’s part of the NIH. He was giving grant money, his organization, the NIAID, was giving money, providing grant money to EcoHealth Alliance. That’s part of that federal grant money was used to fund bat Coronavirus research at the Wuhan lab. So, of course, he didn’t want it to come from the lab. He wanted you to believe it came from the wet market because then it traces back to his organization, helping fund what is happening in the Wuhan lab.”
“The crazy thing was, as we all go back in the time machine and think about where we were in early 2020, it was the biggest story in the world,” Doocy jumped back in. “And Anthony Fauci, who appeared on this program many times talking about the federal response, it turns out behind the scenes, he was fascinated by the fact that it was the biggest story in the world and it clearly was, but he regarded himself as like the biggest star. He wrote in his journal on May 21st, 2020, ‘The situation with my national and international fame is explosive and really unimaginable. It is not hyperbole to say that today I am the most famous and talked about person in the country.'”
“Who would write that? He talked about Barbara Streisand calling him for vaccine advice, how she accidentally butt called him in return. He writes about his interactions with Julia Roberts and Sean Penn and Larry Ellison,” Earhardt noted.
