KJP can’t say if Biden believes visiting DC is safe, but she’s sure GOP is to blame

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre once again proved that the Biden administration seemingly won’t take responsibility for anything.

With the rise of violent crime in Washington, D.C., President Joe Biden’s spokesperson was asked directly about the Democrat-run nation’s capital being safe for Americans to visit.

But during the Wednesday press briefing, Jean-Pierre expressed that the safety of Americans amid the surge in crime should not be a political issue. Then, in a stunning lack of self-awareness, she proceeded to blame Republicans for getting “in the way” of improving things.

“Does the president believe the nation’s capital is safe for Americans from across the country to come visit?” a reporter asked during the briefing on Wednesday.

“We hear the reports and see the data as well, and all violent crime anywhere is completely unacceptable, not just here in D.C.,” the press secretary responded.

She urged not to “get into the politics on this,” and then stated that “the president is wanting to make sure that communities feel safe and we’re not seeing that from congressional Republicans — we’re just not. ”

“They continue to get in the way,” Jean-Pierre declared.

“The president has taken action. He puts that in his budget every day,” she insisted, so “that we make communities safer and we’re just not seeing that from Republicans.”

Whether or not the president believes D.C. is safe for Americans to visit was never really answered in Jean-Pierre’s response. The concerns arose again after a shooting on Thursday morning where three Metropolitan Police officers were injured.

The White House continues to blame Republicans while it is more than clear that Democrats created the current mess in the nation’s capital.

There was a 40% increase in violent crime and a 35% increase in homicides in D.C. last year, with a stunning 82% increase in carjackings, USA Today reported last month.

Last week, CNN reported:

On Saturday, former Trump official Mike Gill died in the hospital days after being shot in his car while he waited for his wife to leave work in an area with ritzy hotels and shops a few blocks from the White House. Last year, Rep. Angie Craig of Minnesota was attacked in her apartment building, months before three assailants pointed guns at Rep. Henry Cuellar outside his DC home before stealing his car, phone and other belongings.

The same man who shot Gill then went to a different part of town – another busy neighborhood with luxury apartments and up-scale businesses – and accosted a driver, police said. The gunman demanded the keys, shot the man and drove off in his car, according to police. The victim, 35-year-old Alberto “AJ” Vasquez, a father of two young girls, died in the hospital.

But the administration seems to still find a way to blame Republicans for the state of the totally Democrat-run district.

Social media users slammed Jean-Pierre for the spin on Wednesday.
