Kristi Noem: Alligator Alcatraz lets US lock up worst of illegal ‘scumbags’ Biden let in

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem praised the innovative new Florida Everglades detention center for criminal illegal aliens where “some of the worst scumbags” allowed into the country by the Biden administration will be safely held.

The facility, which is located in the heart of reptile-infested swamplands, has been dubbed Alligator Alcatraz by Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, referring to the infamous federal prison in San Francisco Bay.

In a Friday post to X, the DHS boss shared a clip of a Fox News appearance where she discussed Alligator Alcatraz with host Jesse Watters.

“Alligator Alcatraz, and other facilities like it, will give us the capability to lock up some of the worst scumbags who entered our country under the previous administration,” Noem wrote. “I will continue to stand alongside our officers as they protect and defend our homeland. Make America Safe.”

The Florida detention center will be similarly secure to the original Alcatraz but unlike “The Rock” which was surrounded by water, Alligator Alcatraz’s deterrent to foreign criminals who may get the idea to stage a jailbreak is the natural habitat which is chock full of gators, crocodiles, pythons, poisonous snakes and other critters that could save taxpayers’ money if illegal prisoners get antsy and their desire to flee ends up with them becoming a part of the food chain.

“It presents an efficient, low-cost opportunity to build a temporary detention facility because you don’t need to invest that much in the perimeter,” the Florida AG explained in a video. “If people get out, there’s not much waiting for them other than alligators and pythons.”

Noem, who has been on a Latin American trip, hailed Uthmeier’s outside-the-box idea for Alligator Alcatraz.

“The ones with some of the vendors that we had, I felt were way too expensive, and that those vendors were not giving us fair prices and so I went directly to states and to ask them if they could do a better job providing this service,” she told the Associated Press.

“They were willing to build it and do it much quicker than what some of the other vendors were. And it was a real solution that we’ll be able to utilize if we need to,” Noem added.

The secretary also urged illegals to self-deport using the CBP Home App while on her way back from Guatemala on a plane used for ICE deportations.

“Had some plane issues on the ride back from Guatemala. Fortunately, an @ICEgov deportation flight carrying criminal illegal aliens had just touched down on the same tarmac in Guatemala. Hitched a ride back to the USA on ICE Air—great flight. Use the @CBP Home App to self deport now!” Noem wrote.

She also praised Alligator Alcatraz as “absolutely fantastic” during her interview with Watters and said that it was “the future” of immigration enforcement.
