Kristi Noem’s $70m jet will be repurposed, used by Melania Trump

Former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s $70m jet will be repurposed within the Trump administration.

According to a Wall Street Journal report, the aircraft will be utilized by some of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, as well as First Lady Melania Trump. Originally purchased by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) as a tool to assist with the president’s deportation agenda, the jet features “a bedroom, showers, a kitchen, four large flat-screen TVs and even a bar,” The Daily Mail reported.

“This aircraft will be available to cabinet members who need secure command and control and rapid long-range mobility,” said a DHS spokesperson, who said that the craft had been purchased before Markwayne Mullin’s confirmation.

“ICE claims the jet will be used for deportations and travel for Cabinet officials, including DHS leadership like Noem,” DM notes. “But some DHS officials privately expressed concern to NBC about whether the luxury 737 jet is necessary for Noem to carry out the president’s mass deportation agenda.”

“When asked how the plane would be used for deportations, a DHS spokesperson said ‘ at least one of the bedrooms is currently being converted for seating to prepare the aircraft to meet the demands of its deportation mission,'” the report continued.
