Lara Trump joined liberal comedian Bill Maher’s podcast, and the topic eventually turned to President Donald Trump.
More specifically, Maher wanted to discuss the recent media feeding frenzy that occurred after Trump called Bloomberg White House correspondent Catherine Lucey “piggy” while aboard Air Force One. Lara Trump questioned the reporting on the incident and whether it’s possible that the uproar was the result of potentially mishearing the president’s words

“Don’t do things like call a woman, ‘piggy,'” Maher said.
“Do we know that happened?” Lara Trump asked.
“I saw it on tape a thousand-” Maher responded incredulously.
“Or did he say, ‘McGee’?” the guest chuckled.
“Here’s also, by the way, but Donald Trump is an equal opportunity offender,” she continued, pointing out that Trump doesn’t just pick on women. “He also said that he gave Netanyahu a lot of crap whenever he thought that he wasn’t doing things right. He said, ‘he doesn’t know what the f**k he’s doing,'”:
“What does that have to do with piggy?” Maher asked.
“I’m just saying in general, he also, how about Joe Biden called somebody a lying pony face dog soldier or whatever. Dogface, pony soldier, whatever,” she added. “It goes both ways.”
“I’m just saying, on a personal level, here I am working on this editorial for Friday, all about how it’s mostly liberals who have to, like, get over yourselves, eat with your family — even the ones who were Trump voters–” Maher explained.
“Even the Trump voters,” Lara Trump repeated, pumping her fists.
“Even the Trump voters. It just makes my job more difficult when, during this week, he says to a woman, ‘piggy.’ I mean, even you must admit this is just not cool, not necessary,” the host said. “And look, I’m still going to do it and I’m going to say yes because you know what adults do? Adults understand that people are going to do certain things that we really hate. And you think you’re a better person than me because you hate him more for calling the woman piggy? I hate it, too. Okay. But I’m an adult and I understand people have their flaws and he’s the president of the United States. You can’t not talk to him. There are certain people you just have to talk to, your spouse after you have a bad fight.”
“Yeah,” Lara Trump agreed.
“Yeah. Who hasn’t? I have never been married, but I’ve been in serious relationships. I know the feeling after a really bad fight where you’re like, I just don’t want to talk to you, but you don’t. And your boss who you hate, and your relatives at Thanksgiving, and the President of the United States, there are people you just have to talk to. And not talking and going no contact doesn’t make you a purist. It makes you a brat,” he continued. “Even when he says ‘piggy,’ but does he have to do that?”
