Late night hosts reaction to Trump’s first few days was worth the four-year wait

During and after his first term, President Donald Trump found himself at war with late-night hosts and it would appear that may continue into his second term.

Fox News gathered together some reactions from the likes of Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon, all of whom gave Trump a hard time during his first stint in the White House. Despite having the last four years to cool down and gain some perspective it looks like the hosts of late-night comedy have not gotten over their irrational hatred of the MAGA champion.

“It’s Martin Luther King Jr. day and like Martin Luther King, I also had a dream,” Meyers said. “I mean, it had to be a dream, right? It’s too weird to be real.”

“President Trump today- whoo,” he continues as the audience chuckles. “Sorry, it’s just hitting me,  I haven’t said that in four years, what a flashback.”

Next up was Jimmy Fallon.

“Yeah, guys, uh, today Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th president of the United States,” he said as part of the crowd booed while others cheered.

“We’re all united, that’s great to know,” he snarked.

Kimmel, who has a more serious history of hating Trump and those associated with him, also had something to say.

“Our long national nightmare was officially sworn in another time, a second time,” he said. “Donald Trump became the first convicted felon to be sworn in as President of the United States today.”

“So how, how how, where, where do you even begin?” Colbert stuttered in his own show’s intro. “Off we go, first of all. How do you- how do you- how do you make sense of today? How did we get here?”

It remains to be seen if the hosts will take their cues from the majority of Americans who voted for Trump, or if they will keep up their hateful dog-and-pony show from the previous administration.
