Lawrence Jones raises doubts about Biden’s secret exit: ‘Who really signed this letter?’

Events within the Democratic Party are playing out like a political thriller, though some would surely think that the real-life events we are seeing would be a bit too ambitious if seen in a movie theater.

Shrouded in secrecy and intrigue, the plot began last week when President Joe Biden suddenly came down with COVID-19. The American public was told that he was returning to his home in Delaware to convalesce. Adding to the drama, the 81-year-old cognitively challenged president hasn’t been seen publicly since stepping off Air Force One nearly a week ago. Swirling rumors are now claiming Biden had a serious medical event in Las Vegas, which is supposedly where he was when he contracted the Chinese flu.

When Biden dropped off the face of the earth, he was under intense pressure within his own party to step aside and pass the torch to a more viable candidate. Despite a stubborn refusal to acquiesce, Biden dropped an announcement over the weekend saying that he would be standing down and, par for the course, there were problems with that message, as Fox News; Lawrence Jones pointed out on Monday.

“I’m personally over the tears and the sadness. I mean, if there’s anyone that should be crying, it’s the American people. We’re the ones who have been lied to for over, what, three years about the moment,” Jones said. “Obviously, you know, I wish the president well. I want his health to be in order. I think that should be the main priority of the country right now, making sure that he gets the help that he needs.”

“But again, we still have not seen Joe Biden. There was no video. There was no photo of the moment. All we got is a statement that he clearly didn’t write,” he added.

The announcement that Biden had decided to “stand down” was shared on X. Curiously, it did not have a White House letterhead and while the signature bears the name “J.R. Biden,” it includes an underline not seen in other Biden signatures.

Billionaire financier Bill Ackman posted concerning the announcement: “If this were a hostage situation, that letter would not qualify as proof of life.”

Jones said Biden’s circumstances reminded him of “the moment when Dianne Feinstein was going down and she was ill.”

“Everybody knew that she was ill. And the staff put out the statement about her retirement,” he explained. “And so all the Capitol Hill reporters started questioning to go, you know, ‘Madam Senator, you know, you just put out the statement’ as she retired and she goes, ‘What statement?’ She didn’t know the statement at the time because obviously, she was ill at the time.”

“I don’t think it’s too much for us to request some type of press conference or some type of video from the commander-in-chief to figure out if he’s the one who really signed this letter,” he added.

In a related matter, The Federalist’s Millie Hemingway had this to say about all the suspense over Biden’s whereabouts: “For the sake of the country, given the extraordinary coup run by the press and other top Democrats, we need to see Joe Biden today. Not later in the week, but today.”

The best Democrats could do was have Biden call during a Harris campaign event Monday night, though the not-so-bright vice president had what was seen as a Freudian slip when she almost referred to the call as a recording.
