Legendary Jewish comedian Roseanne Barr is under fire from the press and activists for making a joke about The Holocaust.
She made the joke during an appearance last week on “This Past Weekend,” a podcast by comedian Theo Von.

Here is the full clip of Roseanne Barr obviously using sarcasm and satire. She is a mensch and one of the funniest people i’ve ever met. pic.twitter.com/p0K6pWEqr8

The clip began with her talking about people’s addiction to “bullsh-t.”
“When I ran for president in 2012, one of my platform things was I will outlaw bullsh-t. And I know that that horrified people because what will they do now, right? They’re addicted to it. They’d rather have that than food or a happy family. They’re so addicted to their bullshi-,” she said.
“Nobody wants to hear the real truth. They’re horrified of it. They’d rather go with bullsh-t. It’s easier,” she added.
Switching into sarcasm, Barr then mocked the claim that President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election with 81 million votes.
“I’m glad that they did set up all these guidelines so that we only are allowed to speak the truth, and the truth is that Biden got 81 million votes by winning 36 counties. And that is just incredible. It really, really is,” she said.
“And of these 81 million supporters who gave him more votes than any president has ever gotten before, he came with a mandate from these 81 million voters. And, you know, I’m just glad that they were very careful to make sure that nobody could detract from that proven truth, you know what I mean,” she added.
She was likely referencing all the “fact-checkers” who come out of the woodwork anytime anyone dares question the legitimacy of the 2020 election.
“They mandated that that was the truth and that nobody could say, well, what about no. … You can’t say, you know, that the election was rigged. That’s all a lie. Thirty-six counties can give you 81 million votes. That’s a fact,” she continued.
“Thirty-six counties have 81 million people in them. See, that’s the truth. and don’t you dare say anything [otherwise,] because you’ll be off YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and all the other ones,” she added.
It’s at this point that she decided to drop a joke about The Holocaust.
“There’s such a thing as the truth and facts, and we have to stick to it, and that is the truth. And nobody died in the Holocaust either. That’s the truth. It should happen. Six million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems in the world, but it never happens,” she said.
The outrage was swift:
Roseanne Barr has always been a classless, unfunny troglodyte who never should have become famous to begin with.

Finding out that notoriously racist and transphobic Roseanne Barr is also an anti semite is the least shocking thing I’ll here all day.

Roseanne Barr is completely and absolutely insane. She needs professional mental health care, and not a platform for her disgusting comments.

Sarcasm or not, Roseanne Barr’s comments about Jews and the Holocaust are reprehensible and irresponsible. This isn’t funny. And shame on Theo Von for letting it go unchallenged and instead diving into conspiracy theories about Jews and Hollywood.

To all of the people defending Roseanne Barr’s comments saying: “Nobody died in the Holocaust. It should happen. Six millions Jews SHOULD die right now, because they cause all the problems in the world.”
I don’t care if it was a joke.
I don’t care if it was sarcasm.

Meanwhile, multiple media outlets rushed to slam her.
The Daily Beast: “Roseanne Re-Cancels Herself: ‘Nobody Died in the Holocaust'”
Haaretz: “In Bizarre Antisemitic Rant, Roseanne Barr Claims Holocaust ‘Never Happened'”
USA Today: “Roseanne Barr criticized for ‘reprehensible’ Holocaust comments”
Etc.
But, not surprisingly, she still has droves of supporters, including her own son, Jake Pentland.
“We are embarrassed that people are stupid enough not to recognize Roseanne is being sarcastic,” Pentland told TMZ.
“We think it’s funny that people are so stupid. Let’s stop doing this clickbait s–t. We need to focus on big problems in America. Focusing on out-of-context clips is what morons do,” he added.

Those still posting about Roseanne Barr are clearly uninformed. Her Holocaust remark was simply an example of the lies that are being circulated by some.

You’re still not smart enough to understand comedy, least of all sarcastic comedy! Roseanne Barr is Jewish and has previously spoken about the horrors of the Holocaust. You’re just hate filled and willing to shown an out of context clip for personal clicks pic.twitter.com/M4uMcHqALh
