Left has meltdown over Roseanne Barr’s Holocaust joke, Twitter mocks them for missing the point

Legendary Jewish comedian Roseanne Barr is under fire from the press and activists for making a joke about The Holocaust.

She made the joke during an appearance last week on “This Past Weekend,” a podcast by comedian Theo Von.

Listen:

The clip began with her talking about people’s addiction to “bullsh-t.”

“When I ran for president in 2012, one of my platform things was I will outlaw bullsh-t. And I know that that horrified people because what will they do now, right? They’re addicted to it. They’d rather have that than food or a happy family. They’re so addicted to their bullshi-,” she said.

“Nobody wants to hear the real truth. They’re horrified of it. They’d rather go with bullsh-t. It’s easier,” she added.

Switching into sarcasm, Barr then mocked the claim that President Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election with 81 million votes.

“I’m glad that they did set up all these guidelines so that we only are allowed to speak the truth, and the truth is that Biden got 81 million votes by winning 36 counties. And that is just incredible. It really, really is,” she said.

“And of these 81 million supporters who gave him more votes than any president has ever gotten before, he came with a mandate from these 81 million voters. And, you know, I’m just glad that they were very careful to make sure that nobody could detract from that proven truth, you know what I mean,” she added.

She was likely referencing all the “fact-checkers” who come out of the woodwork anytime anyone dares question the legitimacy of the 2020 election.

“They mandated that that was the truth and that nobody could say, well, what about no. … You can’t say, you know, that the election was rigged. That’s all a lie. Thirty-six counties can give you 81 million votes. That’s a fact,” she continued.

“Thirty-six counties have 81 million people in them. See, that’s the truth. and don’t you dare say anything [otherwise,] because you’ll be off YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and all the other ones,” she added.

It’s at this point that she decided to drop a joke about The Holocaust.

There’s such a thing as the truth and facts, and we have to stick to it, and that is the truth. And nobody died in the Holocaust either. That’s the truth. It should happen. Six million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems in the world, but it never happens,” she said.

The outrage was swift:

Meanwhile, multiple media outlets rushed to slam her.

The Daily Beast: “Roseanne Re-Cancels Herself: ‘Nobody Died in the Holocaust'”

Haaretz: “In Bizarre Antisemitic Rant, Roseanne Barr Claims Holocaust ‘Never Happened'”

USA Today: “Roseanne Barr criticized for ‘reprehensible’ Holocaust comments”

Etc.

But, not surprisingly, she still has droves of supporters, including her own son, Jake Pentland.

“We are embarrassed that people are stupid enough not to recognize Roseanne is being sarcastic,” Pentland told TMZ.

“We think it’s funny that people are so stupid. Let’s stop doing this clickbait s–t. We need to focus on big problems in America. Focusing on out-of-context clips is what morons do,” he added.
