Leftists and Islamists have teamed up to ‘fight America everywhere and all the time’: Schweizer

An excerpt from Peter Schweizer’s latest book delves into how leftists and Islamists have teamed up to “fight America everywhere and all the time.”

At the inane intersection of radical Muslim extremists and the base of the Democratic Party, absurd levels of virtue signaling and astroturf activism have brought forth subgroups like “Queers for Palestine.” Set to release Tuesday, Schweizer’s new book expounds on the “strange progressive bedfellows” united by their “common rejection of American values.”

In the excerpt from the book, “The Invisible Coup: How American Elites and Foreign Powers Use Immigration as a Weapon,” published in the New York Post, the president of the Government Accountability Institute asserted, “Both Islamists and progressives want to subvert American civilization, their common enemy. As a result, progressives often rally as comrades with Islamists.”

“It would be a mistake to dismiss the Muslim Brotherhood as a limited fringe movement. Further, the strange progressive bedfellows they have found in the United States — pro-gay, pro-abortion, and pro-feminist socialists — have increased the Brotherhood’s political influence and power as those progressives often work with Islamists in common cause,” wrote Schweizer. “And what exactly is their common cause? According to veteran left-wing scholar and Princeton professor Michael Walzer, it comes from their common rejection of American values.”

Within the text, he cited the likes of University of California, Berkeley professor Judith Butler who’d once expressed leftists’ need for “understanding Hamas, Hezbollah as social movements that are progressive, that are on the Left, that are part of a global Left, is extremely important,” and referenced Che Guevara’s children meeting with “militant students” in Iran in 2007 to discuss “common goals.”

“At a meeting with the Iranian minister of culture and Islamic guidance, Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi, it was declared that the common goal was to fight America ‘everywhere and all the time.’ It is just that simple,” read the excerpt.

The author also referred to Hamas-sympathizing activist Linda Sarsour, who had said on the eve of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s (D) election that she and her fellow Islamists would “hold Zohran accountable” to his campaign promises.

“Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has aligned herself with Sarsour, headlining together the Sixteenth Annual Universal Muslim Association of America, as ‘the two took the stage to promote women’s rights and progressive values.’ The event reportedly segregated men and women in attendance, and most women wore hijabs, but that did not seem to bother the congresswoman,” detailed Schweizer before noting her messages had been shared by the Muslim Brotherhood, of which chapters had earned terrorist designations under President Donald Trump’s administration via the State Department.

“Aware that a clear, direct Islamist message has limited appeal in the United States, Islamists have exploited the strange Islamist-progressive relationship to produce some important political offspring, including several influential members of Congress,” he wrote, specifically naming Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar (D) and Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D).

Detailing that Omar was being scouted by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), an affiliate of the Muslim Brotherhood, well before she’d run for Congress, the author made note of the organization’s terror ties and the position of officials that “the purpose of living in the United States is to change it.”

Special attention was also given to Mamdani, previously praised by the executive director of CAIR’s Ohio chapter having himself embraced an unindicted co-conspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, imam Siraj Wahhaj, and voiced favor for the “Holy Land Five.”

As the Trump administration endeavors to crack down on issues of fraud and restore America’s national sovereignty ravaged by open border globalists, the author calls out the use of R-1 visas by mosques and the like to import religious zealots into the country as workers, a program found to have an “excessively high” rate of fraud according to a 2007 investigation by the Department of Homeland Security.

“American progressives are either not aware of these sorts of statements,” said Schweizer after quoting statements that called to “trample [the West] underfoot,” with actions taken “in the name of the coming Caliphate,” “or ignore them out of strategic convenience: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

“Both are engaged at some level in viewing migrants as catalysts for radical social change. Migration can be ‘instrumental in forging social transformations,’ they argue,” he added before the excerpt concluded, “Why do stable, prosperous, free societies like the United States need ‘social transformation?’ They never say.”
