Leftists LOSE IT when Matt Walsh proposes consequences for Chicago mayor’s act of ‘treason’

Leftists collectively lost it this week after conservative radio show host Matt Walsh called for Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson to be tried, convicted, and punished for treason.

Walsh, a host with The Daily Wire, issued the call for Johnson to be tried after a video emerged showing the radically far-left mayor of Chicago urging his constituents to “rise up and fight against tyranny”:

The so-called “tyranny” he mentioned was a reference to President Donald Trump’s recent decision to deploy the military to Chicago to address the city’s ridiculously high violent crime rate.

Johnson doubled down on Aug. 30th by issuing “guidance” and “directives” advising his constituents “how we can stand up against this tyranny” of Trump trying to stop Chicagoans from dying.

“Are you prepared to defend this land — this land that was built by slaves, a land that was built by indigenous people, a land that was built by workers?” he said in the video clip seen below.

“Are you prepared to defend this land? … I need you all to stand firm, to stand strong if this President decides to break his constitutional oath,” the radically far-left Chicago mayor added.

Note that 54 people were shot last weekend in Chicago alone. Note also that Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker has also rejected Trump’s assistance.

Addressing these topics on Wednesday’s episode of “The Matt Walsh Show,” the eponymous host argued that Johnson is effectively committing treason by interfering with the feds’ mission.

“It’s true that in our federal system, states are not required to assist the federal government in carrying out certain policy objectives, but it’s also true that states and local government cannot actively interfere with the federal government’s decision to enforce the law,” he explained. “That is not states’ rights. That is treason.”

“Brandon Johnson is openly encouraging residents of Chicago to engage in treason against the United States. And for that reason, Brandon Johnson should be arrested, charged with treason, convicted, and then given the requisite punishment for a capital offense,” he added.

The “requisite punishment” can range from a prison sentence of five years to an outright death sentence.

Continuing his monologue, Walsh admitted that this, of course, will most likely never happen, though he held on to a little hope based on President Trump’s decision to eliminate a drug cartel boat.

“Just a few days ago, Tren de Aragua, you know, they never thought that they’d be intercepted as they sped towards the United States on their drug boats,” he noted. “They certainly didn’t imagine they’d get blown up without any warning.”

“All indications are that we are entering a new phase of federal governance, one where the U.S. military acts to defend the American people, where false narratives from NGOs are ignored, where criminals are actually punished when they violate the law in public,” he added.

Leftists lost it in response to Walsh’s monologue, with many of them accusing him of outright calling for Johnson to be executed. However, execution is just one possible sentence for treason.

Some leftists even alleged that Walsh is the real traitor who himself will one day be tried “for high crimes and misdemeanors.”
