Leftists are raging mad that a California school district has decided to ban all flags from its official flagpole except for the American and California state flags.
The decision to ban other flags was made by trustees during a Sunol Glen Unified School District hearing Tuesday after hours of arguments.
“The district’s new policy specifically refers to California law requiring public school to fly the U.S. flag and the state flag. It points out the law doesn’t require any other flags to be flown and says the district ‘desires to display only those flags required by law,'” according to local station KTVU.
According to leftists, this is a fundamental attack on their veritable LGBT religion since the rule would also ban LGBT flags from being flown at school.
As a result of this disagreement, Tuesday’s hearing was very chaotic as “people shouted over each other, the district superintendent openly clashed with the president of the school board, and the public frequently laughed at and ripped into each other’s opinions,” KTVU notes.
Opposing rallies happening now. At 6, the Sunol Glen School District will consider banning any flag besides the American & California flag from being displayed. Superintendent and school principal Molleen Barnes for her part sided with the LGBT cultists, reportedly arguing “for more inclusiveness and consideration for the feelings of LGBTQ students who frequently experience depression and even die by suicide.”
Other opponents of the move reportedly threatened to recall board members and accused them of endangering children.
“They also said the board was violating its own 2021 resolution which said, among other things, the district “strives to be a shining example of inclusiveness and diversity,” according to KTVU.
Board president Ryan Jurgensen pushed back on this rhetoric by noting that “my concern is when a school starts endorsing any particular view that can be divisive.”
“The school should be inclusive of all. Individual views are irrelevant. I prefer to seek more for what unites us as a school,” he added, referencing the fact that the American and California state flags are already by themselves inclusive of everybody.’
Sunol Glen parent Joel Souza, an opponent of the move, was stunned that it could happen in his left-wing community, which is on the outskirts of San Francisco, according to Fox News.
“Someone said yesterday we are a canary in the coal mine in the Bay Area because it seems so bizarre it would happen here. But how many canaries and how many coal mines do we need at this point? This is happening right under our noses,” he said.
“It’s a fantastic little school, like this oasis in the Bay Area. It’s a very, very accepting place. It felt very safe and protected. But there are clouds on the horizon and that’s very unfortunate. This is just an obviously backdoor attempt to ban the Pride flag and everything the flag represents,” he added.
#SanFrancisco gets one correct:
A school district has endorsed a policy of only displaying the US and California state flags.

Diana Rohini LaVigne, another parent who appears to be an opponent, shared concerns that this move will be replicated by other nearby districts.
“Sunol Glen is a tiny school; it’s really, really small. But this could be precedent-setting. Folks around us – Livermore, Pleasanton, Hayward, Fremont – they’re all looking at us as an example of what could happen,” she said.
“Seeing that flag for an LGBT student tells them this is a safe place,” Austin Bruckner Carrillo of Castro Valley Pride said.
“Are their [the board members’] actions representing the people? Have they talked to the people? No one talked to me about this,” Jim O’Laughlin, a Sunol school alumnus and resident, said.
Opponents of the move also criticized the school district over other examples of so-called “anti-LGBT” policies, such as one that requires teachers to inform parents if their kids decide to change their name or so-called “gender pronouns.”
“At least five California school districts have passed parental notification policies requiring schools to alert parents if students use a different name or pronoun,” Fox News notes.
There were also plenty of supporters.
“We should have no other flags than those two and I’m fine with that cause that’s all we need in the schools,” Manny Morales said.
“They have crossed the line from academics into values, beliefs, opinions, politics and sex. It’s like giving a credit card, a sexual credit card to students to engage in sexual behaviors, identities, when they’re still minors,” Lisa Disbrow added, referencing the name/pronouns policy.
