Palestinian-American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) may soon face an investigation and possible sanctioning from the State Bar of Michigan.
The nonpartisan legal group Coolidge Reagan Foundation is calling on the state bar to launch a probe over antisemitic comments made by Rep. Tlaib, who in addition to being one of the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress is an active attorney in Michigan.
Dan Backer, the foundation’s counsel, told Fox News the original member of the radical left Democratic squad has “clearly violated” the Michigan bar’s ethics code with her rhetoric and that people who spread “vile, antisemitic lies to foster hatred towards a people” should be held accountable.
Explaining that he encountered Tlaib’s remarks while looking into “some of those snot-nosed kids” out of Harvard and Columbia law schools, Backer said he was outraged.
“I was reading … what she was saying, and I was like, ‘You know, this is really outrageous. How is this OK?’” he said. “And then I remember, ‘Well, she’s in Michigan, I wonder if she’s a lawyer.'”
“And I looked it up, and she was,” Backer continued. “And so we talked about it internally. We realized that people need to be held accountable.”
Stating the obvious in post-Obama America, Backer said the “fundamental problem” today is that “people do horrible s— and they’re never held accountable for it.”
Backer sits on the Accuracy in Media board and commented on Harvard students calling the nonprofit to request that their name be taken down from the organization’s “so-called doxxing truck” for signing a letter in support of Hamas.
“The sooner you start putting cameras on people’s faces, they stop,” he explained.
“When people see accountability for their bad actions, you get less bad actors,” Backer said. “I think that’s really essential, and probably this generation of whiny, little s—s has not really experienced yet.”
The only problem with that theory is that Tlaib and her ilk exist for the sole purpose of drawing attention to their failed agenda and are confident that the media will have their back when they go out on a limb.
