Legendary NFL receiver chases down heckler during golf game, delights onlookers

Legendary NFL player Jerry Rice took serious issue with a heckler who taunted him Thursday at a golf tournament in South Lake Tahoe.

The Hall of Fame receiver for the San Francisco 49ers was competing in a celebrity tournament that included star athletes like Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley and Tony Romo — he finished 42nd out of a field of 90 players, which may explain his irritability.

In the clip shared below, a man calls out “Fore!” just after Rice tees off. Clearly miffed, Rice turned toward the gallery, shouting, “Hey! Yo! Hey! Hey!”

Rice then crosses under the rope line separating the gallery from the players and makes the ill-advised decision to chase down the man with his club in his hand — the crowd helped point out the culprit.

“We have never seen anything like this,” wrote sports media personality Dov Kleiman, while sharing the footage.

While there was no actual video of the confrontation, celebrity-loving onlookers cheered Rice’s overreaction — with an estimated net worth of $50 million, he has much more to lose here than the heckler.
