Reinforcing the president’s question as to when they say “NO MORE,” the Department of Justice revealed just how many more documents it has to review related to Jeffrey Epstein.
“… the entire process would take over eight years …”
The likelihood of transparency regarding the late convicted sex offender anytime soon appears to be diminishing every day. Now, after it was revealed that the FBI and the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) accounted for more than a million documents after a congressional-imposed deadline, a DOJ letter to a judge indicated “more than 2 million documents” had yet to pass review.
Writing to District Judge Paul Engelmeyer, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Jay Clayton provided an update on the ordered release of documents, which was set for December 19, 2025.
“To date, the Department has now posted to the DOJ Epstein Library webpage approximately 12,285 documents (comprising approximately 125,575 pages) in response to the Act, and there are more than 2 million documents potentially responsive to the Act that are in various phases of review,” read the five-page letter.
As Politico’s Kyle Cheney detailed, the update means the DOJ has thus far “released less than 1 percent of the total.”
“Currently, and anticipated for the next few weeks ahead, in the range of over 400 lawyers across the Department will dedicate all or a substantial portion of their workday to the Department’s efforts to comply with the Act,” explained the letter, documenting the workload and tremendous use of resources being applied to the Epstein files. “These efforts include over 125 lawyers in the Southern District of New York as well as dozens of lawyers from each of the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in the Southern District of Florida, the Criminal Division of the Department, and the National Security Division of the Department.”
“In addition, more than 100 specially trained document analysts with experience handling sensitive victim materials are assisting from the Federal Bureau of Investigation,” the letter stated.
Before the end of the year, President Donald Trump had opined on the recent discovery of a tranche of potentially related documents, stating on Truth Social, “Now 1,000,000 more pages on Epstein are found. DOJ is being forced to spend all of its time on this Democrat inspired Hoax. When do they say NO MORE, and work on Election Fraud etc. The Dems are the ones who worked with Epstein, not the Republicans. Release all of their names, embarrass them, and get back to helping our Country!”

Adding further perspective to the review of the documents preempting their release, which had originally been expected within a month of a mandate from Congress, Newsweek reporter Hugh Cameron projected, “Assuming all those under review will be disclosed, the entire process would take over eight years to complete.”
