Liz Cheney continues to call herself a Republican after GOP voters overwhelmingly rejected the former congresswoman at the polls, but she sure has a strange habit of turning up at Democratic haunts.
On Monday, Cheney traveled to the Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta to commemorate Martin Luther King Jr. — Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-GA) has served as senior pastor at the church for 16 years and he was present as the Trump-hating former lawmaker accepted an invitation to speak on MLK Day.
“I have never been more honored by any invitation than I was when Dr. Bernice King called and invited me to be here at Ebenezer Baptist Church—in perhaps the most significant pulpit in this great nation of ours—with all of you this morning to honor the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.,” Cheney began.
I was honored to speak at Ebenezer
Baptist Church yesterday to
commemorate the life and work of Dr.
Martin Luther King, Jr. This year,

But it didn’t take her long to get around to what she does best — hate on Trump. And Cheney even used Dr. King’s name to do so.
“As we meet this morning, a great lie is doing its work poisoning the bloodstream of our democracy. A former president refuses to acknowledge he lost and has convinced millions that our election and our democracy no longer work,” Cheney said, preaching politics from the pulpit.
“He threatens the foundations of our nation, and everything Dr. King persevered to save,” she added. “If given the chance, the former president’s allies in Congress will once again ignore the rulings of our courts, the plain language of our Constitution – as they claim for themselves the right to throw out the votes of millions of Americans and install their former leader as our president. We must not let them prevail.”
Chenery had the Democrat-heavy parishioners eating out of her hands, and she poured it on.
“Faith communities have a particular obligation this year,” she declared. “There are churches across this nation where ministers preach from the pulpits an adoration of this former president. There are pastors who seem to have forgotten the First Commandment and are openly embracing an immoral, unstable, and depraved man who threatens violence and death, who attacks the rule of law, who says he can terminate our Constitution.”
The only thing missing, in the spirit of Hillary Clinton, was a feigned southern accent and spiritual cadence.
While Democrats hang on Cheney’s every word as she bashes Trump and the GOP, social media users have other thoughts… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
You brought your hate and personal vendetta against Trump into what is supposed to be God’s house. You truly are a disgrace and an embarrassment to our country.

Political pandering is not allowed in Non-Profit churches. Strip their 501(c)(3) status. @Liz_Cheney is the J6 criminal.

Liz you’re pathetic.. God doesn’t like ugly.. I don’t think people are going to church to hear someone fear monger over Donald Trump..

Have you realized yet that you are no longer capable of having a thought that doesn’t involve Donald Trump?
It’s a little disturbing.
Perhaps you should think about stepping back and maybe seeing a counselor or something? ♂️

My gosh, you are completely consumed with Trump. Your own hate will destroy you and you will blame him, pitiful.
