Liz Cheney gets pummeled over dishonest spin on alleged Trump ‘death’ threat

Liz Cheney’s pearl-clutching over a recent comment by former President Donald Trump is garnering little sympathy with X users.

On Thursday, Trump noted that Cheney would be less likely to encourage war efforts if she herself had to face what America’s bravest see on the battlefield.

“Dick Cheney’s daughter is a very dumb individual. She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s put her with a rifle standing there with nine barrels shooting at her. Let’s see how she feels about it when the guns are trained on her face,” he said at an Arizona event. “They’re all war hawks when they’re sitting in Washington in a nice building saying, ‘Oh gee, let’s send 10,000 troops into the mouths of the enemy.’ But she’s a stupid person. And I used to have meetings with a lot of people, and she always wanted to go to war with people.”

His point was that those ordering young men and women to fight their wars are never going to have to see the horrors of war themselves, a point that many anti-war groups and individuals make often. Cheney, however, did her level best to spin his comments into a “death” threat. She even dredged up the gender card, which is fitting since she’s endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

“This is how dictators destroy free nations. They threaten those who speak against them with death. We cannot entrust our country and our freedom to a petty, vindictive, cruel, unstable man who wants to be a tyrant. #Womenwillnotbesilenced #VoteKamala,” she wrote.

While this scored her points with the Dems who, until recently, accused her father Dick Cheney of being a war criminal, others did not take her dramatization seriously.
