President Donald J. Trump can expect to be deluged with a blizzard of subpoenas if Democrats retake control of the House of Representatives next year, and the prospect sent a thrill up the leg of one MSNBC guest.
Former network host Chris Matthews appeared on Wednesday’s edition of “Morning Joe,” where he predicted a significant Democrat majority will come out of next year’s midterms, elections that are vital for the left-wing party to bounce back after their humiliating losses last November that sent Trump back to the White House.
During a discussion of the “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” Matthews reeled off a slew of Democrat talking points and misrepresentations before the topic turned to the midterms and his bold forecast.

“I think the Democrats have a very good chance of picking up maybe not the 30-plus seats they normally get off the election, but maybe 15-20 seats, which is plenty enough to take over the House of Representatives and they get the subpoena power in their hands,” Matthews said.
“And people like Jamie Raskin, when they get that subpoena power, look out, Donald Trump,” he added.
If Matthews’ prediction of a Democrat resurgence is correct, Raskin will be well-positioned to resume his dirty war on Trump as the chairman of the powerful House Judiciary Committee, which plays a central role in the impeachment process, one that the president will once again find himself subjected to if the House changes hands.
Raskin has spent days yowling about the OBBB with lies, fearmongering, and insults as minority Democrats find themselves reliant on a House GOP mutiny to prevent Trump from notching what would be a monumental win early in his presidency, with his signing it on the Fourth of July being a powerful symbolic statement to the nation.
