U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., challenged Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas to take their heated disagreement “outside” as a House Oversight Committee meeting went off the rails.
The women traded barbs that escalated into a chaotic showdown Tuesday as Chairman James Comer repeatedly called for order.
Crockett lit the powder keg during a debate on civil rights, women’s rights and transgender rights, telling her Republican colleague, “child, listen” at one point.
“Somebody’s campaign coffers are struggling right now. So she gon’ keep sayin’ ‘trans, trans trans’ so that people will feel threatened and child, listen,” Crockett said.
I’m no child. And if I wanted a physical fight, you’d know it. That’s not what this was.
I won’t be bullied by someone who wants to take away women’s rights while lecturing about civil rights. I won’t be bullied by someone who thinks being scared of rape is a “fantasy.”

“I’m no child! Do not call me a child! I’m no child. Don’t even start,” Mace erupted. “I’m a grown woman. I’m 47 years old. I’ve broken more glass ceilings than you ever have… You will not do that. I’m not a child… If you wanna take it outside, we can do that.”
“This ain’t political, it’s personal,” the congresswoman later wrote in a post on X.
“Bless her heart,” Crockett fired back in her own post on X where she wrote in part: “Today, I introduced an amendment to reinstate the Oversight Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. My Republican colleague threatened to physically fight me about it. Bless her heart.”
“Let me be clear: I wanted to take the conversation off the floor to have a more constructive conversation, not to fight. At no point was there any intention of causing harm to anyone,” Mace said in a statement, according to Fox News. “I will not be bullied into submission, I will not be called names by my colleagues like I was today, I will not be belittled, or invalidated—especially as a rape survivor.”
On social media, Crocket called out Mace as an “attention seeking loser” and Mace declared that she gave “0 f*cks.”

I am at that place where 0 f*cks are given. If you come for me, you better be ready. I will not back down.

“Jasmine, ain’t no way in hell you were made to take on the likes of me. Keep talking though. And I will keep talking back. Or you can just STFU and sit your ass back down,” Mace wrote in one X post.
“The adults in Congress are here to protect women and girls, and their rights, and you ain’t one of them,” she added.
Jasmine, I suffered two injuries when I was assaulted at the Capitol a few weeks ago by a grown man who outweighed me by a long shot.
Jasmine, I have PTSD from the abuse I suffered at the hands of a man, to include real violence and real rape.
Jasmine, ain’t no way in hell…

“Jasmine Crockett must be auditioning for a spot on The View,” Mace added.
